  1. What a singularly graceless and unnecessary comment.

  5. That's a trip that 'everyone' should take at least once.... just preferably NOT after a big rain in the area due to landslides on a stretch of the road that was, in the Mexican way, very poorly engineered. The initial part of the trip is through sugarcane country (just don't do that during sugarcane harvest time!), then a stop in Talpa de Allende and a stay-over in Mascota maybe; then on the way to PV the next morning a stop in San Sebastian del Oeste is in order. After departing that little burg you will cross over the spectacular El Puente de Cristal bridge and realize that before it was there not that many years ago one had to snake down the canyon-side on a dirt road and cross the river... and I mean drive through the water..... and back up the other side of the canyon! As I say, a sure 'at least one time in your life' way to go to PV from Lakeside.

  6. Tell it to the Chinese. World's #1 polluter has more coal fired plants under construction than currently exist in the entire U.S. Responsible alone for more than half the ocean pollution on the planet. Do you think they are taxing themselves silly and damaging their economy to save the climate? I think they are laughing their heads off at us while they show up at these world meetings and mutter platitudes and watch the western world pretend it can solve this problem with windmills, electric cars, taxes and regulations and carbon credits. I'll tell you what we've been doing, regulating and taxing away our own capacity to manufacture while buying a bunch of mostly ill made junk from the world's dirtiest country instead of one of the cleanest. Heck, Mexico is even cleaner than China. Ironically, we could probably do more for global pollution and climate just by not banning their junk and telling companies to return to North and Central America or shut down. And just for fun, google up "list of failed climate predictions."

  8. "One irony of the current market is that weather events ascribed to global warming are stoking demand for transport of out-of-favor coal. A second irony is that the decarbonization push in China could increase coal-shipping demand even more." https://www.freightwaves.com/news/if-coal-is-dead-why-are-all-those-ships-so-full-of-it/comment-page-1#comment-137998 "Next time you see an electric car or a charging station, keep in mind the emissions involved in producing the battery and the electricity used to keep it running." https://fee.org/articles/electric-cars-aren-t-nearly-as-green-as-people-think/ https://www.europereloaded.com/new-study-confirms-electric-vehicles-worse-for-climate-than-diesel-cars/ "Some of the shortages are due to accidents, like the cutting of an undersea cable to the UK, but most are due to green policies and stupid political choices, ironically shutting down oil and gas-fired power plants and fossil fuel exploitation and transport at the demand of the greens, who grossly overestimate both global warming and the ability of air, sun and water to take their place. Ironically, this means coal -- the dirtiest possible fuel -- is back in huge demand." https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2021/10/green_policies_return_the_world_to_coal.html

  9. My, we do bruise for others well. If you don't think there's group think over there, go start posting the opposing of the prevailing point of view and see what happens. Make sure you have your flame suit on. Judging from several of the comments here looks like I got too close to home with that observation. As for censorship, 90 percent of it is because some here just can't resist making personal comments. Those are much more welcome over there. Hence my observation that the OP will find it more suitable there. I suspect he may not be the only one, Oregon. BTW, definition of vitriol: Bitterly abusive feeling or expression. Methinks thou doth protest too much, Sr. Kam.

  10. You must be talking about the alleged dearly departed chillin/gary waller when you speak of vitriol. You always applaud vigorously when he indulges-SNORK! He'll be back just like mike riley is under a dif handle perhaps, so that followers like you can be happy once more wallowing in your own bile.

  12. Textbook example of a highjacked thread. My original question was addressed by the first three posts and then the floodgate of inattention and burnt off dissatisfaction was opened--well, that's too harsh. I guess at the base it's simply a desire to engage in some social interaction...A sincere thanks to Artsnob for his on-point response; I'll give Intercam a go.

  18. That's mi amigo that caught it.It's a diamond back and they are all over Jalisco. The joys of having a casa on the edge of the wild mountain. You don't have to worry where you are. When I went walking behind my cabin in Montana, I used a long walking stick and tapped it back and forth ahead of me so if there was one I would here the rattle before it was too late. They generally only strike if surprised and can extend 2/3 of their length when doing so.

  20. I agree with Mainecoons. BofA Bank of America informed my neighbor recently that they will no longer be processing paper checks. Anyone using checks may want to look into various ways of transfering funds electronically to prepare themselves for the future.

  21. They don't send out statements anymore and have not for years. Only way unless you let them on your cell phone is to ask a banker and that usually requires a wait. While they have branches everywhere they are a giant pain in the ### and they seem to be driving everyone to Intercam. Disclaimer I have accounts at both banks.

  25. That is him. I was there to act as a witness to an eldery American who was having a new will & power of Attorney drawn up. I thought Sr. Cuen did a deft and competant job with this (it took several hours).

  26. have worked with him for many transactions and all have been very satisfactory. Office and surroundings not very glitzy but his fees are the best.

  27. I think you're talking about Guillermo Cuen at that address. He's an attorney, not a notary, but operates under the license of a relative who is a notary. He did two closings for me many years ago, and that sounds like his address.

  29. I never found it necessary to have a Mex bank account. My US bank accounts give access to ATM's worldwide. If you do open a Mex bank account, watch it like a hawk. I had one and evidently the balance fell below $1000mp and the bank ate the remaining balance down to zero with fees. I went in to close it and it had a negative $800mp balance so I just walked out.

  33. When Dr. Byram Bridle, associate professor of viral immunology—a well-recognized expert in vaccinology—refused vaccination due to his natural immunity, he was derided by media and banned from his University of Guelph campus. He made clear that he is, “a vaccine lover and an innovator in this field,” but has concerns about the, “possible link between this heart inflammation that is occurring and these COVID-19 vaccines.”

  35. The origin of the problem was the OP's inability to read Spanish, even though he recognized the relationship of the charge to a medical procedure which had just been done. It would have helped if he had asked at the source of the treatment, or even asked someone to tell him that he was charged by "Head and Neck Clinnic". Jumping to conclusions is often ill advised.

  36. We purchased our Merik garage door opener and remotes from Esteban (speaks English) 14 years ago. He has maintained it and repaired it during that time the same day we call him. FYI He charges us 300 pesos for a service call, of course parts are charged separately. Puertas y Sistemas Automaticos 3310725464 3767654367

  37. And some people would benefit from putting the numbers of vaccine related problems in a comparison to the millions and millions of people who have been vaccinated without problems. Do the same for deaths.
