Cincy
Need a new car battery... My intention was to purchase one from AutoZone. Does anyone have an alternative suggestion? Also, like NOB, I assume the old battery is exchanged for a small discount, yes?
Ferret
Perhaps ORMA which is the same type of store as Autozone and is located in Riberas on the lateral mountain side and opposite Mom's Restaurant. I have no idea about the discount.
bradshoe
There are a few LTH stores around and they take exchanges so you get rid of your battery and they give a guarantee. There is one in Riberas across from the 7-11.
ronhereagain
I bought one at Walmart yesterday but they weren't interested in my old one.
El Saltos
LTH, next to Car City. They will come to your home and install if you wish.
Cincy
I didn't see any at Walmart, San Antonio... San Antonio AutoZone: Duralast, 560 amp, 4 year warrenty $1,639.90 - $250 core = $1389.90 pesos. I changed out the old/new battery myself at the store. One of the clerks at the store will do it for you and take your old one away.

sm1mex
LTH. Reasonable and they put the battery in right then and there and took the old one.
Cincy
"Why?" Ha,ha. I assume you're referring to why I changed the battery myself... I guess, "once an Engineer, always an Engineer".
ronhereagain
Walmart, San Antonio is where I got mine, they're in a lockup cage in the auto parts section.
RVGRINGO
I always found better prices for LTH auto batteries in Ixtlahuacan, at a small place with an LTH sign, on the right, just inside the city gates. They will install and give a guarantee card. You will need Spanish, though.

tomgates
There is no issue with disconnecting the power on any car. Driving at highway speed for about 20 minutes (like here to airport) will reset everything.

Why read something negative into something I said that I didn't say. The staff at that store are very helpful in matters like this and they will do it for you [and now I add:correctly] is what I implied, nothing more, nothing less.
