  2. Not repairable. Needs to be cut out and replaced. If this type of PVC is exposed to sunlight, the plastic will get brittle and break, indoor use only. Have the plumber replace it with a better quality brass full port ball valve if it is important to you.

  3. For at least 4 or 5 years the Chapala has been checking properties one by one on Google Earth for the dimensions of the land and the dimensions of the construction. When they get to yours if it differs from the original documents they change it. They do not send any notice. Happened to me because the satellite pic was taken on a day when I had a large party and the tent in the yard looked like it was an addition to the house of about 30 square meters in the photo. Look at your last tax bill for the square meter area below the title Sup. Const Then the land square meter below Area Titulo If those numbers are different this year than last year.... there lies your problem. You need to go to the office behind the tax windows in the Municipal Palace

  5. Zeb has made it clear she needs more than the occasional trip to a store by a neighbor. She needs someone to cook on a regular basis and provide other services as needed. She, IMO, is asking for an employee, not a volunteer.

  6. Maryanna, there have been NUMEROUS threads regarding Property Taxes in the last weeks. Please read them. The average increase that people are reporting is approximately 9.6%. If you have concerns about your particular increase, as stated in other threads, you need to take action by 1) contacting an attorney to help your or 2) going to Catastro and finding out why you received such a high increase. No need to compare taxes in U.S. or any where else in the world. We live here, in MX. We live by this financial standard, not that of other countries. Just because you say it is less here does not make the reason for your doubled increase legit. Mistakes are made all of the time, and, if you don't research this one, you are giving in to them and they will just continue to do this to us. Make your complaint/concerns known to Catastro.

  8. Purchased a "Oximetro de Pulso para Dedo" for $675 pesos from Farmarica Guadalajara. My wife brought it home to me and when I installed the (2)-AAA batteries (not included), the top of the unit popped off. The white on/off button fell out and bounced I don't know where. It is made of plastic and when I snapped the last battery in place, I apparently broke two of the tabs holding the top on. Pressing the contact switch under where the button used to be did not turn the unit on. When I tried to return the unit less than 1.5 hours after it was purchased, they refused to refund or replace the unit. I've included a picture of the unit. I would score it 0 / 5.

  9. Also available on Amazon Mexico. I’ve never had an issue returning things with amazon here. A little suggestion, open the delivery box or envelope with care so that if you have a return, you can tape it up and reuse the same packaging as often the delivery guys don’t have extra envelopes or boxes when they come to pick up returns.

  11. Handle doesn't budge, the use of pliers is the safer approach.

  12. I would first try to pry the broken handle off. If possible and you can locate an identical new part, pry off the new handle and attach it to the valve. You could also just leave it and use pliers to assist when you need to close or open it.

  14. I have exchanged emails with Ron and he states he is open Tuesday through Friday, as usual. I’m sorry the OP thought otherwise. Perhaps the OP could retract his post, so that Ron does not lose customers.

  22. yes. You apply at a Mexican Consulate outside of Mexico and then, you have 30 days after entering Mexico WITH the approved documentation for Temporary Residence to go to an INM office INSIDE Mexico to finish the process.

  25. The curp card was plastic laminate when we came here 18 years ago. Soon after, things changed (without notification, of course) and that card was no good. I've kept the old card to clean paint off glass with.
