Mainecoons
I need some of the netting one uses to keep birds off of trees. In my case I need it to keep a heron out of my fish pond. Any sold locally?
cricket
Do not know about locally but bought mine on Amazon.com.mx for our two car carport that birds insisted on building the nests. All sizes depending on your needs. Arrived in two days. Hope this helps.
sm1mex
I think LCS had netting over some of their ponds to protect the fish. Check with them.
ibarra
Our neighbor used maya sombra (shade cloth) which is available at almost all hardware stores in various degrees of thickness.
Floradude
The plant store next to the defunct 7-11 has plastic netting in a long roll that can be cut. I use this to cover my small fish pond at night.
bmh
If the heron can land next to the pond and walk down to get the fish , it does not matter if you have a net in the tree. Id the pond is shallow with no place for the fish to hide the heron will get the fish. We had a blue heron in California who got tons of our expensive kois we tried everything and nothing really worked, the heron and raccoons were outsmarting all of us. Neighbors put an electric wire around the pool where their kois were and ended up electrocuting the heron.
Dostortas
We found the heron with their long beaks could peck through the mesh so we bought (Amazon) a roll of metal screen and made a little frame and secured it over our pond at night. Seems to have worked so far. Good luck to you.
Kiko
Pour a can of Coors light in a mug and leave it by the pond for the Heron. He won't be back.
