ibarra
Has anyone had an antibody test recently at lakeside? If yes, where, and if you don't mind, what was the price?
cedros
I have had several at Best Labs in Riberas. 900 pesos.
sm1mex
I think that is antigen. Not antibody.
jrod
I've not had the antibody test, but Laboratorio del Lago on Juárez in Chapala does extensive testing, including for Covid-19 antibodies. Here's their contact info: https://www.laboratorioclinicoellago.com.mx/ 376-765-6260
Mostlylost
Be aware that the antibody test will only show if you have antibodies after recovering from Covid. The standard antibody test will not show the protection you received from a vaccination.

The antibody test shows the level of antibodies that you have had after a vaccination. My first antibody test was done by a lab in Guadalajara through my GP. The other antibody tests that I had done were done at the same Guadalajara lab via Best labs.
Mostlylost
From the CDC Updated July 15, 2021 Languages Print Antibody or serology tests look for antibodies in your blood that fight the virus that causes COVID-19. Antibodies are proteins created by your immune system that help you fight off infections. They are made after you have been infected or have been vaccinated against an infection. Vaccination is a safe, effective way to teach your body to create antibodies. Antibodies can protect you from getting those infections for some period of time afterward. How long this protection lasts is different for each disease and each person. Antibody tests should generally not be used to diagnose a current infection with the virus that causes COVID-19. An antibody test may not show if you have a current infection because it can take 1 to 3 weeks after the infection for your body to make antibodies. Effect of vaccination COVID-19 vaccines teach your body to produce antibodies to fight infection from the virus that causes COVID-19. If you get an antibody test after receiving a vaccine, you might test positive by some (but not all) antibody tests. This depends on which type of antibody the specific test detects. Some antibody tests will only detect antibodies from infection, not from vaccination with the virus that causes COVID-19.
ibarra
Excerpt from CDC post by Mostlylost: "Antibodies are proteins created by your immune system that help you fight off infections. They are made after you have been infected or have been vaccinated against an infection." Please note: Not everyone wants the test AFTER "jab". Some may have had Covid and did not have any symptoms. Also many websites advise the possibility of a false negative is not uncommon. CDC has advised that using an antibody test to try to verify if the vaccine did it's job is basically wasted time and advises against doing it. ibarra
I went to Chopo lab in Ajijic today to ask the price for just an antibody test. It is 800 pesos and you receive a discount from that for INAPAM. You must fast prior to testing.
