HoneyBee
For those who can read Spanish, I strongly suggest that you read an article published in the Informador.mx today. (can say no more because of what can be published on this board).

Nothing there to fret about IF one takes proper precautions etc. as all should already be doing( also limited by rules). BTW no cookies here either. Private browsing is my friend. Oatsie
To save everyone searching, here is a link to the article. If you use Chrome as a browser, there is an option to translate to English. There are 106 foreigners missing and not located in Jalisco

Firefox just uses Google (as you probably know).
Mostlylost
If one follows the Mexican news daily both in print and on TV you would know that the vast majority of people referred to in the article are here visiting relatives/family/friends who are Mexicans. Many are dual citizens thus being categorized as foreigners. 2
Kiko
I agree with the above comment. Also I would add that some expats who have disappeared do not want to be found. I doubt if most kidnappers would choose an expat over a wealthy Mexican but then it does happen. No one wants the FBI involved because that shuts down their trafficking profits. Guess I'm just getting cynical.
Dostortas
Also important to note, the number of reported missing is during the entirety of the current state administration.

Doubt Mexico permits that.

I spoke with the FBI at the US Consulate in Guadalajara in 2012, don't know about today though.
