You may have missed the fact that "they" do not have license plates on their toys. (I see them in my area and will add that they are nice toys to play with 😊).

The best (and most practical) vehicles to own locally
HoneyBee replied to blankletmusic's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
I believe the Honda Fit is no longer available in North America and this since 2020. The Nissan March seems to be a popular little car. -
it means good when pronounced with a French accent. 😊

and my guess for the start of the rainy season for 2024 is December 4th. 😊

Worrisome article in the informador
HoneyBee replied to HoneyBee's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
No cookies loaded on my computer. -
For those who can read Spanish, I strongly suggest that you read an article published in the Informador.mx today. (can say no more because of what can be published on this board).

Darn and I thought I was splurging when I spent 100 pesos for a sweater. 😊

My guess is that this will most probably be the coldest day for this winter (or maybe just wishful thinking 😊).

Just what my dog eats 😊

Do they also carry Costco Dog food and chews/treats ? Thanks

Yes, Funeraria San Francisco is the good choice. In November of 2012 they handled my moms cremation. At that time, the costs was a little above $ 6000 pesos.

Over the past several years I have purchased 1 single, 1 matrimonial and 4 queen mattresses including the bases. Always loved their prices and services. I remember from some of your previous posts that you had a bad experience, but for me so far so good. (note, I am referring to the store east of coca cola just next to the artsy shop.).

If you live in Chapala, there is a frame shop pretty much across the street from Coppel. I had several pictures framed there and they did a very nice job. Also, they have a large selection of frame samples to chose from.

When does the high season end?

Or when the dealers run out of marijuana 😊 -
Poor little souls.

Need to brush up on my algebra to see if I can figure out the unknown in this equation. 😊

Not a single mention of Hurricane Otis on this forum
HoneyBee replied to Ferret's topic in Mexico General
Thanks for the reminder. I do think that many also read TOB. (But am no longer a member because of the political bias 😬). -
Thank you both. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Am planning to visit Guadalajara during Xmas and new years. I use to stay near the historic center but that area has just become to dirty and unsafe. I know there is an area with nice restaurants, art and music but the search function does not seem to want to help me find it. Any suggestion ? thanks

How much does oxxo charge to take a netflix payment?
HoneyBee replied to Eric Blair's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
Your post is confusing. Just to let you know Oxxo sells Netflix "gift" cards for 300 pesos which will cover you for a month. -
And they say that Mexico is dangerous! Check out Chicago last night!
HoneyBee replied to NLU's topic in Mexico General
Well maybe the Mexican border and customs protection should do a better job (then again its open border the other way 😉). -

If you have Mexican friends with Facebook I suggest you ask them about crime. Chapala murder rate is well how can I say disturbing, but this type of crime is not reported in the local news unless it happens in a public places.😑 -
Great, hope she brings many days of rain.

Yes, Colchonera del Descanso has a very large selection at very competitive prices. To date I have purchased 5 queen size, 1 matrimonial and 1 individual for various apartments. The base was always included ! They deliver on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I believe SkyMed does what you are looking for. Friends of mine used them about 8 years ago to get husband back to New York for an emergency heart operation. I lost contact with them so can not help on that front. Also, I agree with the comments above where as its better to pay out of pocket or get local coverage. ( I dropped my medical coverage 7 years ago.)
