Options for emergency lighting during outages. We have plug in rechargeable lights for short term outages 1-12 hours or so but for extended periods we use exterior solar lights and they work extremely well. Not fixed so they can be moved at will, operate in 3 modes , motion activated for about 30 seconds, lower power (dim light) all night, full power (bright light) not all night but several hours of light. Top up the charge the next day, even in cloudy and wet conditions and you're good to go.
The old standby, Candles, work great but sometimes more light is necessary.
