Ajijica1
We have Shaw TV--but lately after 6-7 pm---it fades out--great all day til evening. Are there other english speaking satellite choices here??

RickS
Starlink is another option UNLESS they have quit offering service in Mexico (until they put up more satellites). NOTE: as pointed out later in this Post, Starlink is an Internet provider, not a TV provider. Sorry.
sm1mex
Kiwisat out of Miami. Services Mexico Latin America and Caribbean islands. We have ordered the unit. 150 channels. Everything we want. We have just about totally lost our Shaw most of the time with no signal and reset will not return the signal.
Floradude
So far I have not had problems. I have used SHAW since 2003. I cannot imagine being without SHAW
rckrckr
No Shaw issues here either and have lost only a few channels in the past several years, but the Firestick is a good back up just in case.
RickS
Interesting how some have lost almost nothing and others have almost nothing left. Dish alignment? Old receiver? Luck?

The OP is having trouple receiving SHAW it has nothing to do with internet. Starlink is an internet provider and as such would be of no help in receiving satellite TV signals 1
RickS
My faux pas! Sometimes old mouths speak before their brain engages.
tomgates
For many years when we had a home in the US, we had one of our DISH receivers at our home in Ajijic and used the 8 foot dish to access the applicable satellite. No expense other than installation of the dish and occasional realignment. When we sold the US home in 2015, we used CP Electonics in Guadalajara (why not Ajijic Electronics you might ask? Long story...)and they assigned us a phantom Dish account based in NY for about $100US/mo. Later we added a smaller dish pointed SE to access DISH Mex so if it rained, it would automatically switch from the large dish (pointed SW) to the smaller one for uninterrupted service. Wonderful service from CP.

And as to Dish Mexico.. it has no connection with DISH USA as far as programming and requires a different receiver. Would be impossible to automatically switch

Why post about Dish USA experience years ago which has nothing to do with the OP's question?
sm1mex
We have totally lost several channels permanently we usually watch so for us it’s almost down to nothing of interest. Don’t need to watch reality shows. Kiwisat has all of our favorite educational programs we like.
mexbound
Remember that if you have a small (75cm Sat dish) you are more likely to be fine with reception for a while. Larger dishes are experiencing outages at night. You can read this: Shaw Broadcast Services - About Shaw Broadcast Services
All Day
Here's a site you can use if you are missing channels using Shaw. You can run it on your PC and the connect to your TV using HDMI. Or if you have a streaming device you can cast to the device. Don't need a VPN. All Live TV Channels - Thetvapp.to

Enjoy while you can and wait for the next illegal one to spring up.

When they go down I'll find another one.

tomgates
We had the setup I described thru June 2020 when we sold our home. While the OP was talking about Shaw, there are alternatives in the satelite service arena.
Floradude
Does Kiwisat require a new satellite dish? What replaces the SHAW HDMI Receiver?
Ferret
This link has already been provided on this thread by MostlyLost... I suggest anyone who currently has Shaw Direct Satellite TV read it thoroughly. Ezzie, who started the the Kiwisat thread is making it very easy for those with Shaw to follow in his footsteps.
