My guess is that the Mexican family that owns the monopoly of asphalt sales also owns the monopoly of automotive suspension parts. 🤔

Wise.com (formerly Transfer Wise) transfer question
Kiko replied to InChapala1's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
When I first used Transferwise (Wise) I made a mistake so I called them and they cancelled the transaction. The CSR stayed on the phone with me and told me he thought the rate would favor me if I waited a few more minutes. He was right, I waited a few minutes and the rate moved in my favor so I entered a new transaction. Last week we moved 4500 USD at 10 in the morning (ACH) and it hit Bancomer the same day. That was the fastest transaction to date with Wise. So far so good, changitos (fingers crossed). -

Just the other day when I was at the light in La Floresta I got a flat tire. So I got out and changed the tire without losing my place in line. Traffic is the same as it always was. 😀

Ask a trusted friend with a US bank account to deposit your check in his bank account (mobile app). Then he can transfer the funds to you. He may have to add you to his account, depends on the requirements of his bank. He can remove your name from the account after the one-time transfer is been made. If you do not have a trusted friend,.... SOL.

If the Texas title is clear of liens, seller only needs to sign back of title and complete the address form. Buyer pays transfer fees and title application fee plus any previous annual renewals that may be past due at the county tax office. Transfer tax due to the state will be determined by county tax office if the bill of sale purchase price is less than the book value. Proof of financial liability insurance is required. Proof of current vehicle inspection is required. Some counties vary some on the rules but not much. You can call the county with the VIN to inquire about any delinquent fees. Best of luck to you.

Car/motorcycle wreck on carretera in Ajijc
Kiko replied to Mainecoons's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
The footprint of an approaching moto is much smaller than a car so the brain of the car driver perceives that the oncoming moto is much farther away than the moto actually is. So left turn into the path of the moto and crash. I dunno, but that was from a neurologist. -
There is a welding shop at the east entrance to El Chante on the North side of the carretera who welded a stainless steel pipe nipple to the stainless steel tank of my sauna vaporizer. Spanish only. I suspect you have a S/S jacket, then foam insulation, then an inner tank. The leak orgin will be located on the inner tank, the outer jacket is not the leak source. It could get messy. But I am no solar tank expert, just seems like common sense.

Want to learn more about climate change in Mexico?
Kiko replied to MtnMama's topic in Mexico General
If you want to understand how the term "global warming" morphed into "climate change" take a view at the movie "Vice", Dick Cheney's life story. -
Cement Injection For Foundation Stabilization
Kiko replied to Mainecoons's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
I would think that you would need a soil sample from under the wall to determine if the soil is unstable, such as a clay soil or fill soil. if you inject cement to lift the wall, but the soil is unstable then the wall will fail again later. I dunno, I am no soils expert. -

He's still around. I usually get a response within 3 or 4 days, seldom the same day.
