  1. There are so many spelling errors, grammatical errors and punctuation errors in posts on forums, that I just let it roll off my back. If you understand what the poster is trying to say then don't bother trying to correct them.
  2. He meant a reciprocating saw which means the blade moves forward and backward. All you've got to do is hold the handle and the saw does the work. In this case, it requires a blade for metal.
  3. What they offer and what they deliver are very different things depending on where you are located.
  4. I would also recommend iherb.com and/or iherb.com.mx They are very reasonable in price and offer an extensive line of brand name vitamins and supplements. The price is as stated with no extra charges added. An order usually arrives within a week and I have my orders sent to iShop in San Antonio Tlayacapan so that I can pick them up at my convenience.
  5. Wondering if they've had to increase their prices due to the number of customers that they've lost.
  6. Any iron worker can do this. Call one closest to you.
  7. "Places I've Been" I have been in many places, but I've never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can't go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone. I've also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there. I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be driven there. I have made several trips there, thanks to my friends, family and work. I live close so it's a short drive. I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump to get there, and I'm not too much on physical activity anymore. I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go and I try not to visit there too often. I've been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm. Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I go there more often as I'm getting older. One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the adrenaline flowing and pumps up the old heart! At my age I need all the stimuli I can get! And, sometimes I think I am in Vincible but life shows me I am not. People keep telling me I'm in Denial but I'm positive I've never been there before! I have been in Deepshit many times; the older I get, the easier it is to get there. I actually kind of enjoy it there. So far, I haven't been in Continent, but my travel agent says I'll be going soon.
  8. Awesome site Mama! And, the Irish are very much appreciated in Mexico and there will be green beer here on the 17th... the San Patricio Brigade which fought on the side of Mexico in the Mexican American War... https://www.nps.gov/places/the-san-patricio-brigade.htm
  9. This is another part of the problem...
  10. It can get really complicated. My Irish grandfather was a coal miner who worked in Wales where he met my Welsh grandmother. Then they moved to Lancashire, England. I gave up because the records of marriage, births and deaths were in three different countries. So much easier when people stay put.
  11. Specifically for those looking into their Irish heritage... and only available for the next couple of weeks according to the article. https://edition.cnn.com/2024/03/08/world/irish-ancestry-guinness-brewery-archives-cec/index.html
  12. Walmart sells E-pura garafones. When I place my order for delivery with Walmart and I have an empty E-pura garafon, I just add the water to my list. Driver brings it in and puts the garafon under the kitchen sink and the rest of the stuff on my dining room table.
  13. It's nearly time for one of their annual postings (school March break in the U.S.) about the dangers of Mexico. 🤣
  14. This is just a sampling of fridge and freezer shelf replacements on Amazon that ship to Mexico... https://www.amazon.com/s?k=replacement+shelves+for+freezer&crid=1CMR25E6F5WKY&sprefix=replacement+shelves+for+freezer%2Caps%2C154&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_31 A better idea would be to use google and specify the make and model number of the fridge to get specific results that would fit.
  15. That's an improvement. The last one that the Ajijic office gave me came off a pile of returned modems on the next desk... unchecked as to working capabilities. It didn't work and I assume that someone also got the non working modem that I returned. That was the last straw for me.
  16. Don't hold your breath. I found it far easier to purchase a Telmex modem on Mercado Libre. Call the 1-800 number for Telmex and ask for an English speaking technician. They are the ones who told me about Mercado Libre and which was the best and newest modem model to purchase. They are very reasonably priced. I gave away the two modems that I purchased when I dumped Telmex. One of them was brand new. I gave the old non working one back to Telmex when I closed the account.
  17. I am assuming that you are IN Colorado NOW??? There is a service at specific Fed Ex offices called Rush My Passport. Read this link to find your nearest location in Colorado. https://www.rushmypassport.com/fedex-passport-offices/colorado/
  18. Paid both my refrendo and predial this morning. Walked in and, five minutes later, walked out with paid receipts in hand. Was at the recaudadora at 9:30 and the side with chairs for "Pago" (left side) were empty. The right side chairs for appointments (citas) were full. Then went to City Hall and the same thing. It actually took longer to park and walk to City Hall than it did to pay. Bliss!!!
  19. I also didn't need to provide a SIN when I opened an account with Intercam. Just passport and Immigration ID card.
  20. Agree though it made me laugh about cutting through a wall. Any of you actually had a hole cut in your cement wall? The mess, noise and dust is unbelievable. Then the edges have to be patched and then the inside and outside painting (that may or may not match the original colour). Then a platform to hold the air conditioning unit. Hopefully you already have an electrical outlet to plug it into. Then a minisplit has twice the lifespan of a window unit. Then you will have to put up with the noise of it operating and the cost of operating it. Earplugs are reasonably priced though.
  21. I have never seen a double hung window in Mexico. That alone, makes a window style unit difficult to install properly and efficiently. You may find this comparison of interest... each to his/her own... https://www.electricrate.com/window-ac-vs-mini-split/
