court0503
No luck with Google. hopefully someone you have personal experience with. Prefer individual provider (vs SAT Hospital or Quality Care) but beggars can’t be choosers
bournemouth
I have been using Geovanni Romero, San Jose 233, San Antonio. 331 168 0268. He comes from Guadalajara most days.
MtnMama
I would strongly recommend Dr Sam Reyes at Casa de los Pies located in the SAT Hospital complex. He is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in feet. He operated on my foot, and I have been very pleased with the results. 376 688 4439 He and most of his staff speaks English. Floradude
There are no Podiatrists in Mexico. There is no school of Podiatry. You need to use an orthopedic doctor who specializes in the feet.

MtnMama
In Mexico a Podiatrists (Podólogo) is essentially a nurse with advanced training. Think of a nurse practitioner. They are trained in procedures such as medical pedicure and toenail fungus treatment. They are NOT medical doctors although they often call themselves 'Dr'. They do a decent job within their scope of expertise. If you have anything more complex, they may or may not admit they don't know what to do.
timjwilson
I have 'extreme' experience with podiatrists NOB throughout Canada and USA. The podologist I encountered here was at least as skilled as the NOB ones I encountered (excepting 2). If I were to contemplate foot (bone) surgery which I have had about 20 times, I would never go to a podiatrist for this. The OP indicated "just looking for a regular old podiatrist type..nothing complicated" I'm sure the doctor I noted can handle this or even the staff at Dr. Georges. Tomas
There is an excellent podiatrist just as you are entering Chapala, on the right hand side just prior to the main intersection and just past Spencers office..
Floradude
What is difference between podiatrist and podologist? A podologist may have advanced knowledge of these research-based subjects but is not qualified to treat foot conditions or perform surgeries. A podiatrist, by contrast, is trained and qualified to treat a range of foot conditions, perform surgeries, prescribe medications, and design rehabilitation plans. Floradude
I do not believe there are any Podiatric Medical Schools in Mexico. A life time ago I went to my doctor for pain in my right foot. He x-rayed it and sent me to a Podiatrist--not a orthopedic specialist. I ended up having a titanium implant in my right great toe. That is when I learned that Podiatry is a separate branch of medicine with their own colleges. This article is about podiatric medicine. For the profession see podiatrist. Podiatrist, Podiatric Surgeon, Podiatric Physician Podiatric surgeon performing reconstructive surgery Occupation Activity sectors Medicine, orthopedics, endocrinology Description Education required Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Fields of employment Hospitals, private practices Podiatry (/poʊˈdaɪ.ətri/) or podiatric medicine (/poʊdiˈætrɪk, -ˈdaɪ.ətrɪk/) is a branch of medicine devoted to the study, diagnosis, and medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity. The term podiatry came into use in the early 20th century in the United States and is now used worldwide, including in countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.[1] A Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), or a podiatrist, is a healthcare professional who diagnoses and treats conditions affecting the foot, ankle, and structures of the leg.[2] The US podiatric medical school curriculum (similar to their US MD and DO counterparts) includes lower extremity anatomy, general human anatomy, physiology, general medicine, physical assessment, biochemistry, neurobiology, pathophysiology, genetics and embryology, microbiology, histology, pharmacology, women's health, physical rehabilitation, sports medicine, research, ethics and jurisprudence, biomechanics, general principles of orthopedic surgery, and foot and ankle surgery. In several podiatric medical schools, such as Western University of Health Sciences the entire didactic, or classroom, portion of the curriculum is taken alongside DO or MD students When I first went to my medical doctor in Ajijic I told him about my toe. He told me that there were no Podiatrists in Mexico.

mexijims1
She is not a podiatrist, but if you only want something maybe orthotics would help, I recommend Lilliana at Ortopedia on 367 Degollado in Chapala. I find her to be very knowledgable and did a great job on my orthotics. She opens up at 9:30 and is at 376-765-2610. Depends on what your foot problem is.
