  1. I have 16 solar panels already. My wife's Oxygen units use a lot of power but I can live with that cost. I chose no heat on my new split units...being cool is what we needed and her oxygen converters are heat producers, a lot of heat. As to cost...every job will be different, wiring, hardware for mounting, paint, access, new electric boxes for each unit with shutoffs, connectiion to my solar meter etc ...but I am pleased with, after conversion to USD, a cost of $2300.00.... As to contact....I will share that on a case to case basis....as some of the posters would not pass my standards. Fred Habacht

  2. Nowhere did I say that Mercadolibre was a scam... but rather that the 'requirements' sound like either online fishing or a scam. I'm forever getting stuff on the Internet from a 'reputable company' so it seems....but is actually a scam/fishing from someone posing as that reputable company.

  7. The Mirage X32 is an inverter type AC. If Fred has 16 panels I would think he could supply his neighbor with electricity!!! 😆 P.S. His cost for this setup is just one more piece of evidence of how cheaply one can live in Mexico. $2300 US for all that gear and installation is amazing.

  8. Mercadolibre is far from a scam. They have a market cap of 63 billion dollars on the NASDAQ . They are verifying various accounts to make sure they are secure.... Those procedures are for your own protection....Similar procedures are required to initiate a bank app in Mexico. Needed to take a photo of my passport for a US account recently as well.

  9. My or my that sounds like a scam..... for a site that is kinda a Mexican craigslist place, asking for a Passport number AND a face scan would have me running for the hills.

  10. Open the following from Informador today. Don't bother if you can't read the Spanish. Putting it here mainly for the pure JOY in the picture that comes before the story............ which says among more......... heat continues with nearly zero possibility of rain..... https://www.informador.mx/jalisco/Clima-hoy-Guadalajara-Sin-novedad-calor-y-viento-predominaran-en-ZMG-20230608-0050.html

  12. Federal law requires that you report money of over $10,000US when entering the USA, by land, marine, or air. It is a reporting requirement. Failure to do so can cause forfeiture of the money if you are caught. "Money" means monetary instruments and includes U.S. or foreign coins currently in circulation, currency, travelers' checks in any form, money orders, and negotiable instruments or investment securities in bearer form. The same $10,000US applies when entering Mexico. The report does not trigger any tax. https://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/kbyg/money

  13. I will say again. I use Dolarapp. Right now...17.32 buy 17.30 sell. Easy to change pesos into dollars. You get a Master card and just take dollars out of ATM in the US. So no worries crossing and having to declare.

  15. IMO, it is simpler to go to the Recaudadora in Chapala and pay 200p at the small abarrotes tienda to schedule your appt. It is to the immediate right of the indoor entrance of the Recaudadora offices. They will make the appt for you. I have not been in 6 months. I transferred 3 vehicles last year in this manner after wasting many hours with the Joco Recaudadora and the online process. Buena suerte.

  17. May want to add more solar panels. Details about cost and contact information would be helpful. Are those the inverter type of AC? Heat pump or just AC? Heat and dryness feels very sustained this year.
