Have you used something to remove water from your gasoline?

Recommended Posts

I searched this point here and didn't find anything directly responding to my ultimate question.

For the second time in a year, I had to have a vehicle towed home due to water in the gasoline.

I read that "some" water won't stop the engine, but it will damage the parts.

The water can get into the gas in various ways such as the cap being off when it is raining or in rare cases, a leak in the underground tank at the station.

Has anyone used one of the additives that says specifically it removes water from gasoline?

Any input about this specific point will be appreciated.

Thanks.

I had a chance revelation. I usually get 35 MPG here. I a trip to Guadalajara I tanked up on the highway, always PMex. For that one tank I got 45 MPG. We are not only paying gringo prices but, being shorted in other ways too.

If you can find it use a can of Heet to remove the water and Sea Foam added to your tank will help remove the water but its main purpose is to lubricate your fuel system and help restore it from the water damage.

Thanks. I found 2 kinds of HEET. One mainly for "removing" "some" water and helping injection. $0.98 at ORMA and another ISO HEET for $1.19 with the main purpose of "removing" lots of water.
