Verification text from Capital one 360
Whipstock replied to sm1mex's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
I use a duel sim card phone, with the most basic package from NOB. I receive text for free without a roaming package. The other sim slot, I have a Telmex card. Lots of Android options, but I've been told it is more complicated with an IPhone. Cut and paste the following to see options (I'd expect significant import duties to Mexico): https://www.amazon.com/s?k=dual+sim+unlocked+cell+phones&sprefix=dual+sim+&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_9 -

Yes,...sorry, I thought I had made it clear that the link was from within the US, but was informative.

I do not think that this is as simple a problem as subtraction can explain. It has hurt people in many ways. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/watch/suicide-rates-directly-linked-to-covid-19-layoffs/vp-BB15zrWn

I have had a document apostiied for the USA in the past. Kind of a joke, as someone who would forge a Degree would also forge a stamp saying it is real; No? This is from a within the US view but I found it informative: https://www.nationalnotary.org/notary-bulletin/blog/2015/07/notarizing-documents-from-other-countries

Things Better NOB--They can go fishing!

This must be getting close to the longest thread NOT needing adult supervision from the Moderators. Thank you, Mainecoons! -
Thank you for posting the Xoom link. I just used it for paying my TelMex bill. Very easy. 👍

I was told that at 60, it is half price. No INAPAM needed (?); But that did not apply to me, so I can not say. There are no longer any questions. Just 10 signs to ID with three choices each. Good Luck.

I took the test a week ago through Luzma Grande. I used her study guide. I was very happy with the service. There are 10 questions in English with three choices. At least 4 questions I was assuming at and two I have confirmed I chose the correct answer. A traffic circle is a "Glorieta" (not a Ardor), A bus with people walking in front with a red circle and slash is "no bus stopping". A stop sign with an arrow above it did not have "Nearby stop" as I expected, I chose "stop Ahead". There is a thick straight line with a thin one coming off. I was expecting "Lateral Oblique Junction" but it wasn't a choice so I picked Exit (which should show an arrow). I got only 8/10 and assume these last two may be incorrect? They do not tell you which ones you got wrong. I did hear a Gringa say she only got 5/10 and failed. At least one of the three choices for each question seemed obviously wrong, so you should be down to a 50/50 chance. There is no driving test with a license from NOB. I was told that applies even if it is expired?? They are very helpful and pleasant at the testing facility. Hope this helps.

Both the $ store, and the electronic store a few stalls down have them. The ones at the electronic store cost more but have a built in flashlight.

Need a programmable DVD remote.
Whipstock replied to Eric Blair's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
If you use an android, try using this app on your Phone, to control your DVD. Iphones have similar options on their Phones to control DVDs. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.raafiya.universaldvdremotecontrol -

Understood,..."universal remotes" can even be used for a betamax machine -
Need a programmable DVD remote.

My last cell was a Galaxy S7. I was able to use a universal tv remote control app on it. My current Galaxy S9 does not seem to work with any of the remote tv apps. Worth a try as it would cost you nothing. -

Canadian Flying to Phoenix. Any Issues Right Now?

Flew in and out of PHX with my CDN passport in March for my Residentia Permenante (6 day stay). I wish the CDN immigration were as professional and polite as the US immigration. Friendly, and straight forward questions. I've found the same to be true in Houston (among other places when in transit). PHX is a nice airport as well. Others I've talked to who were in transit back to Canada since CV19 have told me that they had similar experiences. -

Money Transfer (after I sell my Monet)
Whipstock replied to SunFan's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
I have recently had great success using "Transferwise". Went from RBC to Intercam in less than 48hrs at a better rate than any bank I've seen,....but they charge about an additional $10 per $1000. https://transferwise.com/ -
Does anyone know if Intercam will work? TIA
