Mexicoafterlife
Across from the Walmart in the shopping center is a dried spice shop. Been using them since last year. Good prices and great product. And the owners are awesome! It's next to where the Chevrolet car place was. Or across from the barber

Mexicoafterlife
Just now, Bandol said: Yes, all sorts and many old and stale. My wife has bought alot there and never stale. Maybe you had some bad luck. They grind all of the spices themselves so much fresher then pre ground and shipped stuff. Just saying.
chapalence
I buy many of my spices from Amazon and Mercado Libre. Here is one example- https://www.amazon.com.mx/Chile-bueno-preparar-salsas-facilmente/dp/B09DNDBKSZ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=IG0F3IFR5BNV&keywords=chile+ancho+en+polvo&qid=1654770639&sprefix=ancho+chil%2Caps%2C171&sr=8-

My mistake i suppose. The shop opposite the Art Connexion is good.

Ferret
Spices, like most things, have expiry dates. Mine, bought in SuperLake, have the expiry dates clearly marked on the containers. I don't buy anything without checking for the expiry date. 1
bmh
Being French I cook a lot with anis and fennel and I buy it at Superlake.. Dried ancho chili in many location, or buy dry ancho chili and grind it in a spice grinder or coffee grinder
bmh
ill buy dried spices that have expired or about to expire if that is what I wont and they have not expired 10 years ao.. Actually depending on what you need but if you cannot find fennle or anis put a drop of the dry anis liquor or pernod and it will do the trick and you can always use the bottle to drink with water as an aperitif or flame shrimo or fish with it. dichosalocura
If spices are dried and stored correctly they should keep long past any expiration date. 1

chapalence
I just received 500 gr of beautiful, fresh dried Romero from Mercado Libre. Like many bulk products it is vacuum packed. It was cheaper than buying a small jar anywhere.
bmh
yes but 1/2 kg of dried romero is a huge amount of romero and then you have to store it. Better grow a plant.
