But Dr. Alejandro Macías of the University of Guanajuato offered the less than consoling observation that the pace of infection cannot keep up — because the disease would run out of recipients within two months. However, he also told a Covid-19 discussion panel that he expects a sudden drop in new cases will occur by September after a peak in August.“It’s a tough situation, there’s a lot of sickness. This is a steep incline that I hope will arrive at its peak in August so as to begin to decline at the end of the month or in September,” Macías told a virtual Covid discussion hosted by the Tec de Monterrey university. He estimated that half a million Mexicans are being infected daily. Dr. Alejandro Macías discounted concerns about the Cansino vaccine. A fellow panelist said that despite the pronounced growth in case numbers, Mexico’s situation can be compared with what happened in India and the U.K., where there was an abrupt and rapid decline in new cases. “If we behave ourselves during two or three weeks we can arrive at the point where there is a rapid descent,” said Dr. Francisco Moreno, head of the Covid department at the ABC Medical Center in Mexico City. And that, Macías said, means slowing the spread of the virus by avoiding crowds and enclosed spaces and wearing face masks, considering the highly contagious delta variant that is at the forefront of the new infections. “This could take a turn for the worse if we don’t understand right away that it’s not just about being vaccinated,” Moreno said. “It’s about looking after yourself with basic measures.”
  2. The truth is always like that to some. Skip on bye, Whip !
  3. Glad she is doing well. Seems the Pfizer did exactly what they said it would do, which is: it may not prevent you from getting the virus but will make the virus less likely to cause you major problems( unless you are in the 5% that it will not help.). We often forget that at least 5% of those who get the shots can still get a severe case of the virus, if they catch it. So, it is difficult for me to understand the "break through" infection, as we already knew about 5% would still get covid (some severe) and the rest could get a less than severe case. Doesn't seem to be any "break through" here, as all was known beforehand.
  4. Very few really care what happens to him. If they did, the posts would not be like they are, and certainly they would only be things that would benefit him directly. Sad.
  5. One thing a lot of people here seem to forget is that they are simply wasting their time trying to change the opinion of other posters on this Board. Actually, I believe all posters here are aware of that and simply attack others with different beliefs because they have nothing else of importance to do with the last days of their lives. Sad, no?
  6. Today's exchange rate is 19.798, NOT 19.852, so when you do your calculation, you get that. All good there. The bank did not mistreat you. I believe the problem was that when you computed the Visa Exchange rate from the Visa Currency Converter, you got yesterdays rate, because you probably did it in the morning BEFORE they changed to today. Actually, if you had gone to the banks earlier (before they changed to today's rate) you would then have received the 19.852. All ok. Thanks for sharing and Buena Suerte !
  7. Something is wrong with that rate you got. I ALWAYS get the same rate as either Visa or MC, EVERY time I withdraw from an ATM, no matter which one I use. Either you miscalculated, or the atm charged you more than they should have. You should have gotten 19.852, if that was today's Visa rate. Might want to check that out. (Remember, to check the rate, you take the total amount of pesos you received + the peso charge, and divide that by the dollar charge to your Schwab account. That should ALWAYS give you the exact daily Visa rate.
  8. https://mexiconewsdaily.com/news/coronavirus/active-covid-case-numbers-soared-to-137000-on-saturday/?utm_source=The+Whole+Enchilada&utm_campaign=34c74a2809-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN+The+Whole+Enchilada&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f17425060f-34c74a2809-350176874 The estimated number of active coronavirus cases is at a near record high as the third wave of the pandemic continues to grow across Mexico. There were 131,632 active cases as of Sunday, according to Health Ministry estimates, down from a record high of 137,777 on Saturday. Estimated active cases exceeded 100,000 at the height of the second and worst wave of the pandemic in late 2020 and early 2021 but didn’t rise as high as their current level. They rose 16% over the week to Sunday
  9. Hey, not happy with your own source, delete it. Just quoting the source you gave us.
  10. NO vaccine protects anyone from getting it, not covid nor the Flu.
  11. And, where are those facilities located and how many states both in Mexico and NOB use them? Just a plain PCR test will not distinguish the difference. Much more elaborate/expensive testing has to be done. Below is from YOUR Source, not mine: " But can the actual COVID tests on the market detect the Delta variant? To put it simply: not always. While the Delta variant (otherwise known as B.1.617.2) may be the pathogenic offspring of the novel coronavirus, it carries distinctive biological markers that some among the dozens of commercially available COVID tests from academic institutes and medical giants may not be able to sense. An initial COVID test would then have to receive additional screening that involves more intricate genomic sequencing of a patient’s sample in order to home in on whether or not it’s a Delta variant case, and that process is reliant on a mishmash of private, state, and federal laboratories that are carrying out the screening, "
  12. Caution: A New Variant will be discovered Every time people stop being afraid. (Mark my words)
  13. More diversion when you are faced with the truth and have no valid response.
  14. No 2 people react the same to covid. So, your point is ? You have not forgotten that none of the shots give 100% protection, have you?

According to Mexican regulations, 25% of gasoline content should be aromatics – mixtures of chemicals such as benzene, toluene and xylene – but gas supplied to Pemex stations in Guadalajara from the state oil company’s refinery in Salamanca, Guanajuato, is up to 35% aromatics, according to a report by the newspaper El Universal.
  17. I strongly advise checking the actual vial/box the B-12 comes in, as I tried several pharmacies a few years ago and they were giving B-6 and calling it B12. Fortunately, I read things before I take them. YMMD, but this is Mexico.
  18. Why would anyone go to a doctor for anything if you can't trust what they tell you.?
