VC1180
Unfortunately, our house doesn't have a boiler, solar system, electric shower has issues and irritated to use immersion rods... anybody has a better suggestion for my temporary stay? Thank you!.
johanson
I have never heard of an electric shower. Did I misunderstand something?
VC1180
Yes, its electric shower. A shower and it has a heating system ..though it consumes more electricity
RickS
Pete, these ‘shower heads’ are used sometimes when it is easier to run an electric circuit to a bathroom as opposed to running a gas line.... or installing another gas water heater close to the shower. The ones I have seen have an electric ‘coil’ right around the shower head. Instant heated water if/when they work as designed.
AngusMactavish
These are the only kind of water heater for showers I found in Guatemala.
Go Solar
1 - how long is "temporary"? 2 - does the house have both hot and cold lines, or only cold? 3 - pressure system or tinaco feed (gravedad)? 4 - budget for a solution = ? With this info, better recos can be made.

The biggest problem with the ones I saw causing trouble was the wires to it were not large enough and could not deliver the load. The YouTube video shows what is inside and makes it easy to see if there is a problem.
VC1180
Yes, wires are always burnt and the coil doesn't give hot water when needed. It works efficiently in the middle of the day, but not in the morning.

Inexpensive and easy to do. The insulated tanks hold the heat well overnight to give a good shower 1st thing in the AM. Since you have the tinaco on the roof, you have a cold supply there and would just need to run a hot line from the solar down to your hot water entry point, or even directly to the shower area. Feel free to PM for more info.
alex45920
The electric shower head has a heating coil that is cheap and easy to replace. The water supply from the tinaco is cooler during the winter months and will be increasingly warmer in the morning starting right about now.
