  1. when you remove a mountain that would suggest many new residential dwellings. Perhaps as many as 400.
  2. ...natural surroundings for more unsupportable development. Note these were mostly LOCAL Mexicans. 1 foto shows the people marching past my house on Hidalgo and the other is taken beside my house at the entrance to Calle Mr Crowe showing half the mountain above Lourdes gone. Except for a brief period the giant jackhammer has been operating from dawn to dusk 6 days/week for more than a year maybe 2 and at least as long as the wonderful[ahem] roads revisions on Hidalgo. The presidentes excuse for doing nothing was that Chapala has no jurisdiction in such environmental matters even when in Chapala Municipio. The people in this protest endeavour are not protesting anything else-believe it!
  3. Personal responsibility would be a virtue placed on top of an individuals list in all matters to the betterment of self and society.
  4. Sorry, having actually worked with the aforementioned gobiernos , I am dealing in facts. Your facts re:tax base is some sort of unofficial accounting done involving Ajijic only ,if I were you would would stop repeating because it's anecdotal and baseless and far from factual reality. Like I said you make some good and valid posts but not in these matters that you keep repeating to your detriment.
  5. In the parade on Sunday the[mainly local Mexicans] were demonstrating against the destruction of our mountains, like in upper Lourdes for use as housing development removing natural beauty not the rest of what you put in your post. And neither Javier nor Gerardo when he was presidente said that 70% of property taxes paid for OPERATING FUNDS in this municipio. You make some good posts from time to time about various things but what you have regurgitated here for the umpteenth time.especially about Ajijic and it's rather small tax base compared to the rest of the municipio is not correct. There are residential properties including rancheros in the rest of the muni that are far more "high end" and I have been fortunate enough to have been behind the walls of some to make this observation. Just the one across the street from me is a family complex of 4 houses and just added a 5th all of which are larger than yours and in turn that family owns many commercial and multi unit residential properties throughout Chapala.
  6. The only one here on this topic that is showing anger is you SUSAN. do you kick dogs and cats too to vent your spleen?-SNORK!
  7. Why do you constantly insist on using the royal we when talking about yourself?-SNORK!
  8. Most real estate "appraisals" here are a joke and a half. 2006 we bought our house for $65,000 and the asking was $79,000. This is not NOB so nothing done in NOB applies here. I have extensive experience in antiques and art NOB. There are 4 prices : silly asking price, insurance, auction and what a buyer is willing to pay. I recently bought a set of circa 1820 New England chairs for waaaay over market value because I just had to have them. As a professional looking to buy for profit, I would have bought them for only 10% or less of what I paid for my own use. They look terrific around our dining table and 2 beside a period drop leaf lamp table. I never get tired of looking at them.
  9. Haven't you trolled enough about this nonsense yet? Shop at stores and is there not a forum where you live that you can bother those people with blather?

  15. Apparently some people can't get past a narrow focus and don't comprehend what I said here regarding how the world would turn if everybody stopped doing what they're doing because a bad thing happened. Do I need to put forth an example like if the Japanese quite after the bomb would they be what they are today? Right gary chillin? pedro kertesz
