  1. And if a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there to hear it does it make a sound>
  2. Not essential. Closed Stay at home.
  3. I was asking Spenser who indicated he was doing it in Chapala or Jocotopec. I don't need to pay someone to go to GDL for me.
  4. Are you saying you no longer need to go to IMSS in GDL to renew?
  5. I for one love being able to do 1 stop shopping. I own Walmart stock so I pay myself along with millions of other Walmart stockholders when I shop there. Most North Americans own stock in major corporations in one way or another. Have life insurance your premiums are used to buy stock by the ins co. Retirement plan? Again stock. So really we are the large corporations. Based on large corporations making money we should not carry cell phones, use Telmex, buy cement to build houses, buy gas to cook and heat water, buy aspirin, drink beer or bottled water. List could go on for days. As Mr Spock would say "not logical"
  6. Because you are asking very unique and specific questions that probably would be better answered by an attorney who specializes in Immigration Or the free advice could end up costing you .
  7. Calls from a Telmex landline or a Mexican cell are free to the USA or Canada so maybe international operators here are a thing of the past.
  8. Maybe this is a dumb question... No offense Since calls to the USA and Canada are free from a Telmex phone or a Mexican cell phone ......Why are you trying to call collect?
  9. The name is Plaza Interlago. It is certainly NOT being torn down.
  10. What may be over the counter in the US can still be considered a medical product by Mexico. Getting an import permit will probably be impossible for you. What is "over the counter" in Mexico many times requires a prescription in the US. Two different sets of laws. Ferret has a very good suggestion. Read the label then do some research online. You may find there is the same item in Mexico with a different name.
  11. Whatsapp 5 billion users. Owned by Facebook.
  12. DHL will be much more expensive than USPS Priorty mail.
  13. Check the USPS website. Aduana opens about 5% or packages that the scan shows something odd.
  14. Right on. List of "unecessary" things that cost money begins with candy continues through coffee shops, pototo chips, soda pop, ends somewhere near zoos. So deciding what others are entitled to is basically a ....do as I say not as I do ... type of person.
  15. Yes I understand that you're dying to go to Costo and will find a way to rationalize it. All the Tapatios heading to Chapala use the same. Wishing you the best in health #stay at home
  16. I'm in agreement with TelsZ4. There are many cases in GDL right now. Many people who could be carriers are not respecting govt guidelines. Going to GDL for shopping is a careless idea that could help bring the virus to lakeside. There is nothing in Costco that you can't live without. Or possibly the expression "I'm dying for some...." could come true Stay at home and help save lives.
  17. If tou can not live without it then send to a friend. Have them send USPS priority to you. Declare under 50 dollars as craft supplies. Keep your fingers crossed Aduana doesn't open. Or with the dozens of face creams available here find a new one. My sister in law had to have a certain dish soap from the US she had used for years. Asked me to bring for her because nothing here was the same or worked as well. I refilled a bottle with a Mexican brand that was almost the same. She never knew. I told her later. She didn't believe me.
  18. A border official saying this time ok but next time no?? Very odd.... If the story is true there is definitly more to the story. In normal times thousands of vehicles with Mexican plates enter daily. Many driven by US permanent residents or non Mexican citizens.
  19. Sending a package via DHL, FedEx, etc. Will cost you well more than the savings you receive by buying here. How does one import items? Depends on many factors. If it is classified as "medical" a special license is needed. Some Mercadolibre vendors as well as small shops here have buying trips to the US and bring products pack without paying the 16% IVA or customs inspections. Example; The Victorias Secret store in Laredo is one of their highest volume for perfumes and creams.
  20. 61 deaths per million citizens seems to be lower than any of the European countries and the Uk. Looks as though the USA is doing a better job
  21. The order in Jalisco for covid deaths is the body must be burried or cremated within 8 hours of death.
  22. I stand corrected. Yes Mexico deserves it. So sad. I watch his press conferences and am amazed.
  23. This conversation is about Mexico. I don't care what other world leaders do or don't do. I live and vote in Mexico.
  24. Since I am registered I won't see that page. I did it 8 or 9 years ago. Is it asking for codigo postal with only 4 places for numbers?
