[Urgent help] speedy wifi suggestion

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Nice to meet you all.
I have been a CD-ROM here for a while, wish someone can give me good advice.

Here is my situation:
I have a video project, finished a video with 3GB.
But the wifi in my home is super slow, even I upload it in the mid-night, it's not working well.

So, I went to different cafes these days, but it doesn't help too.
I'm in Starbucks now, but they keep reconnecting my wifi, so it's not working well for me too.

I got equipment with me, and i don't have a car, i can take uber only.
I'm in Guadalajara. Did anyone experience the hotel's wifi, will it be faster? Or any cafe? or restaurant?

Thanks!!

You are trying to upload a 3GB video.  You are probably better to bypass using wifi.    Connect with a cable to your router/ modem .   Check you upload speed using a speed test website.

Here is a calculator to tell you how long it will take at your upload speed.

Thanks for your response.
Yes, I did check the speed test, but my main problem is I need to have at least 10Mbps wifi.

And I don't know where can I find it :(
Starbucks' speed is fine, but everytime I uploaded half of the video, the wifi will reconnect and restart the upload again...so, it never ended T_T

Mostlylost, not all devices have ethernet capability. If a specific internet connection can support high speeds including 10mbps up, then their wifi is going to be able to support 10mbps up too.

Yukito, probably no one on this forum is going to have knowledge of a place IN Guadalajara as most folks here are at Lake Chapala and rarely go to Guad for computer services.

Possibly call around to large hotel properties like Hilton or Marriott to see if amy might have 10mbps upload. The front desk clerk is probably NOT going to know this specific info although.

Thanks for the response.

Mostlylost, I did go to a Cyber after your suggestion, and it works better before the electricity cut off by the rain.....i think I got a little black luck

RickS, I tried to call the nearest hotel, like Holiday Inn, but you are right, they don't know their network speed too.

I'm going to find another solution, like compressing my files and upload overnight.
Million thanks for responding me, I calm down now and can think better ;)

You can use a cell phone data connection, that generally has sufficient speed to hit this level or even higher.
