johanson
Remember that Shaw Direct has announced that we will be losing the last of their signals by about March. They have invested in lower powered and better focused satellites that still provide a strong signal to Canada but will not be losing energy letting signals leak as far south as Mexico. one techy suggested, with a smile on his face, that we could probably still get the signal with a 30 foot satellite dish. So I guess Shaw Direct will soon no longer be an option in Mexico.
sm1mex
I’m going with Kiwisat out of Miami Florida. They like Mexico. Many units already installed lakeside no problems.

sm1mex
It is out of Miami. We ordered the unit. Ajijic electronics will be installing it but they don’t have anything to do with ordering. They just install. 150 channels. Everything we have lost on Shaw plus more.

sm1mex
Me too. Anyone going back to Canada can use Shaw but not good here anymore.
Jreboll
Here in Texas I see many houses have those dishes on roof tops that have been disconnected but the company doesn’t bother to pick them up and just leaves them there.
Ezzie
The Shaw dish will work fine to receive Kiwisat, just needs to be repointed toward the satellite that Kiwisat uses (SES-10 at 67W degrees). Ajijic Electronics can set you up once you sign up with Kiwisat in Miami and get the receiver you need down here.
sm1mex
Kiwisat also comes with the LNB for the dish.
Ezzie
The only piece of Shaw equipment that would be worth anything back in Canada is if ou have an 800 series receiver. These can still be activated on an account up there. Everything else is now e-waste.
