RickS
The direct summer sun has done a number on the refrigerant line insulation 'material'.... rubber and/or foam... on one of my mini split outdoor units. Those refrigerant lines are OK but I want to recover them with a 'tape wrap' product. Another of my units had this done some time in the past. Anyone done this or know where I might look for some 'insulated tape'. Yes, I could call an A/C repair person but this is/should not be a rocket science fix. WideSky
haven't seen it locally but then I haven't really looked. Home despot/depot has some https://www.homedepot.com.mx/SearchDisplay?categoryId=&storeId=10351&catalogId=10101&langId=-5&sType=SimpleSearch&resultCatEntryType=2&showResultsPage=true&searchSource=Q&pageView=&beginIndex=0&pageSize=20&searchTerm=envoltura+de+tubería#facet:&productBeginIndex:0&facetLimit:&orderBy:&pageView:grid&minPrice:&maxPrice:&pageSize:& Short term fix - pool noodles would work although they also degrade in the sun/heat. RickS
Unfortunately pool noodles probably won't work as my lines are pretty tight loops.
WideSky
Just thought of another possible solution; you can buy a sheet of craft foam about 1mtr square, 1mm thick for about 30pesos from the fabric store (comes in a variety of colors); doesn't absorb water; fiddly and might require more than 2 hands to install and tape. Gives you the ability to work with smaller sections for tight areas. Have you tried casa plomero in west ajijic?
ibarra
As WideSky suggested, check at Ferreplomería, formerly known as Casa Plomero.
Kiko
Google up Amazon A/C tape wrap. Foil back is best to protect from UV degradation. Or maybe Grainger in GDL.
