Ferret
This a fascinating but long read on the history and current activities in southern Mexico of a railway system to join the Pacific and Atlantic. Considering the drought conditions that are hampering the passage of boats in the Panama Canal at this time, it is a timely event to have an alternative. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interoceanic_Corridor_of_the_Isthmus_of_Tehuantepec#:~:text=The Interoceanic Corridor of the,Oceans through a railway system "

I read a lot if mexico news translated by google and a lot if outside Monet is flowing into mexico. A lot off the investing world is saying mexico is the next china for manufacturing purposes. Not communists politics like china has. Outside companies are investing heavily into mexico infrastructure. They want a stable place to make products and export them and most have picked Mexico.

The Train Maya, Dos Bocas refinery, AIFA in Mexico City, and the Istmus Train, and now Mexicana Airline are all pet projects of AMLO. All but the airline were declared 'national security" thus eliminating transparency as to costs and awarding of contracts. All vastly over budget according to the experts .. as much as double the original estimates!! Both the refinery and train are behind schedule. Experts say neither the train Maya nor the refinery will ever pay for themselves. Meanwhile health coverage has suffered, Pemex continues to lose money, CFE even with rate increases is in trouble.
