  1. There are many Apps that can be downloaded to different devices (game apps like Candy Crush, language apps like Duolingo, entertainment apps like Netflix, etc.) Most Apps allow you to log in using a username or email address and a password that you create. They also allow you to log in using your Google or Facebook or other social media accounts. Using one of the social media accounts allows you to, for example, keep your level in Candy Crush, watch history on Netflix, etc. on which ever device to play it on. According to the message you received, most major trusted Apps that you have used your Google account to log into should still work but there are thousands of Apps out there that are less trustworthy and those may no longer work. You can still access them but you will have to create a new Username and Password to access them in the future and use your new credentials to log into that App on each separate device.
  2. If you check your Visa Statement every month or have an alert sent to you every time a charge is made, I would not call the number and just ignore the email. If a charge does come through, just contact your bank and let them know that it was not your charge and ask them not to allow any more charges from this person/business. If you call the number, they will phish for more information ( such as confirming a name with a phone number or email).
  3. Thank you for your help. I just called 800 228 -2728 = 800 BBVAPCU and they answered in English. I am now on my way to getting this Meta Segura cancelled.
  4. Thank you. I started my BBVA account about a year ago. I didn't use it very much at first but realized a couple months ago that they were charging me the equivalent of $100 Dollars per month for a charge called Meta Segura. I went to the local Chapala branch to inquire about it. They told me that it was a savings account. I asked him how much was in it and he could not tell me. I asked him why it did not show up on my app as a savings account with an available balance. He told me that I needed to go to the branch in Tlaquepaque where I opened the account. I don't think my Spanish was sufficient so I went to the Tlaquepaque branch with a native Spanish speaker. They told me that it was an insurance policy. I told them that I never requested that and he told me that he would cancel it and return my money. He said to wait for a couple of days and I would receive a text msg telling me how to proceed. After not receiving any text, I called BBVA using the number 55-1102-0000. No one spoke English. A local Spanish speaker helped me communicate. The guy told us the same thing, I would receive a text within one day and I was to follow the instructions to get all of my money back. He said to call the same number, ask for him and reference a Folio #. Of course the text message never came. I called back a couple of days later and again no English speakers. Luckily I had another native Spanish speaker with me. The Folio # meant nothing to the guy on the phone and he had never heard of the name of the guy that told me to mention his name. This time I was instructed to find a form online, fill it out, print it, sign it, scan it and email it to them. Almost 2 weeks have passed and still no resolution nor response. Hopefully I can use this number to speak with someone in English and get my money back.
  5. Can you tell me what that 800 number is? I've searched Google and all the numbers I have tried never have a English speaking person.
  6. I purchased a couple of 10 kg (22 lbs) dumbbells at Soriana Chapala a couple months ago. They had a variety of smaller sizes there as well. I found them in an aisle between dishes and clothing. I'm sorry but I don't recall the price.
  7. I have been able to send Pesos from my BBVA account to others here if they have a Mexican bank account (does not have to be a BBVA account) in quantities much larger than $8,000 Pesos without a fee charged on my side at least. I have also used my Dolar App account to send a large amount of money to an individual with a BBVA account without a fee.
  8. Here is a 40 gallon one from the Home Depot in Tlaquepaque. https://www.homedepot.com.mx/plomeria/calentadores-de-agua/deposito/calentador-de-deposito-gas-natural-152l-40gal-performance-102980
  9. I am planning a Thanksgiving dinner for several local families, who are friends. I am expecting up to 20 adults with children. I want to offer a full traditional spread of food. I have prepared most of the dishes myself in the past and can follow recipes very well. I just have never prepared a whole Thanksgiving Dinner all at once. I think that I have all of the necessary appliances and kitchen equipment and know that I will have to prepare some of the dishes a day or two in advance. What I am looking for is an experienced Thanksgiving Dinner Chef (or couple) who can help me organize and manage. I will have plenty of helping hands to prep food, clean and wash dishes. I would like to be able to communicate with you in advance and maybe have you here on the day prior. Of course you would be welcome here on Thanksgiving day as well, if you don’t have plans. I can offer some money, Thanksgiving dinner, and lots of leftovers to the right person. I live in Chapala. If this is something that might interest you, please message me. Thanks, Mike
  10. I had a Verizon plan before a trip down here but knew that they wanted $10 Dollars per day for usage in Mexico so I switched to T-Mobile Magenta 55+ prior to a trip down here last year. My unlimited data ran out after about 4 days and they switched me over to a lower speed. At the lower speed I was unable to stream anything on my phone, barely use my laptop with a mobile hotspot, and I couldn't even play a basic game on my phone. I switched to AT&T prior to my next trip and it worked perfectly. I think I pay about $80/mth for unlimited but I brought my own phone and insisted that I wanted a month to month contract. It might be cheaper if they lock you into a 2 year plan.
  11. Based on my experience, you need to set up an Express Send Recipient for each person you intend to send money to, including yourself and a separate one if you are sending to yourself at a separate location. I've 3 Recipients set up on my account. I had to physically go into a branch in the US to set up each one. The exchange rates are good and it only cost $5 Dollars to send any amount. I recall the limits are $1,500/day and $6,000/mth.
