Thanks to those who offered money. Hopefully, you will help us next time.
Thanks to Tim who supplied a deluxe model for the Mexican Senior lady in Chapala who has had a hernia operation
Yes, it is BUT it's also full of commercial ads and that's where they get their revenue. I use it all the time... and mute the ads. It's about choice and comfort level. You can pay through the nose for Shaw Direct (previously Star Choice) or others and you'll STILL be subject to the commercials. Free works for me... and I can cast from my laptop to the TV using any number of dongles hooked into the HDMI port on the back of the TV.
That's a great device. I run a Nvidia Shield Pro. I love it because it has a Gigabit Ethernet port, and 2 built in USB 3 ports for expandable storage. You can even use it as a Plex Server.
I would stay away from the Firestick. They were great a couple of years ago but the recent OS updates are making everything more proprietary to the Amazon ecosystem. I would recommend the Google Chromecast TV, or an Nvidia Shield if price is no object.
Shaw gives me my Seattle ABC, CBS, NBC, & PBS stations. Also, the same from Detroit. And FOX, CNN, MSNBC, and a few more channels that I don't remember. However, once the satellite dies that carries these channels, it will not be replaced. What's the expected life expectancy? Maybe 5 to 10 years, or maybe a week. No one knows.
Thanks, but no way. Personalizing what should must be an arms-length relationship is exactly how fraudsters operate. And by an off-brand bank? There aren't enough red flags in the world.
