Kyle
About 7:00 pm heard lots of sirens and horns honking in the village. Anyone know what that was?

dichosalocura
In Chapala we had it too at that time. It was related to the Christmas festivities. Santa was arriving on his sleigh carried by the local towtruck company.
Bisbee Gal
It was the annual Coca Cola Christmas Caravan. They do it all over Mexico and have done so for decades. Last night there was one in Ajijic and other nearby areas. I saw it on FB but cannot find the link now.

Thank you I didn't know Ajijic was a village. Learn something new every day. Are the people who live there called "village people" ?
TelsZ4
Googling the reason for the horns and sirens would have been preferable to asking the question on here...

How would you google that? You would just get old news articles talking about shoot outs that ocurred years ago.
slainte39
Name the "village"......win the prize. I would have said San Nicolas (de Ibarra), as I did hear sirens there.
dichosalocura
The sirens were loud and obvious in Chapala, I just live a block over from Avenida Madero and heard all the commotion so I decided to take my usual nightly walk along the malecón. It was only the arrival of Santa Claus accompanied by his entourage of Coca-Cola trucks with Christmas banners on reminding el pueblo that Santa drinks only Coca-cola and nothing else accept for the occasional spiked egg-nog.
