Pancho's "sale" prices Costco products

Recommended Posts

I know they offer a few Costco items at Costco prices, and change those "sale" offers every week. In the west store, does anyone know if that starts each Friday, and if so, what time?

I'm told they're displayed earlier in the east store, but that's a long way from Villa Nova... especially on a Friday a.m.!   And please don't tell me to look on FB ( not a user).      Gracias in advance

I still drive to Costco every 6 - 7 weeks. Last trip they didn't have dog OR cat food I wanted. That's when I learned the Panchos' "trick". ( Long story ---here's the Cliff´s notes version)  Every week they offer  selected items out of their entire CC collection at actual Costco prices.  So IF what you want is in the list that week, they are truly the same as long as stock lasts.

For some reason, today is the "new deals" day, and hub's is off for  dog and cat food to last until I head to Costco / Abastos / cat litter clinic source at end of the month. Otherwise, would have had to go earlier,  messing up Abastos and litter supplies.

Just FYI I am NOT a Pancho's ( or Super-lake) shopper and in fact had never been in the west store until desperate for dog/cat food early January            ( before leaving town following week), nor the east store for longer than I can remember.

@Natasha, The banner on the front of Pancho's West states "same prices as Costco" but I did not see any reference to a "list".  Maybe I missed the fine print, my vision is not that good.  I am sure there is a fly in the ointment somewhere.

My neighbors recently went to buy toilet paper. They first checked the price at Ola Market end then Pancho's. As it turned out Pancho's was cheaper by I think 25 pesos. Maybe its just me but just maybe Pancho's is trying to rid itself of competition. 😒

Kiko you're too right.  Not a fly so much as a little ( IMO) sleight of hand.

Here's the longer version .... for you and others.  Someone had told me about the banner, so when I didn't get any pet food at CC in early January, I decided to check Pancho's out.  Keep in mind... I've now been to Guad ( 3 stops and back, 5 1/2 hours) and am tired, so not fully  alert.  Entered the west store and I saw a bag of cat food directly in front of me, along with a few other "selected" items with the "expected" Costco prices. Dog food I wanted ( so I thought) included.  Gee.... must be true!!  Then  went to the dog food section the dog food I wanted and saw the "correct" price, but not THAT food on the shelf above.  Saw another bag ( different age group but fine --- NOT). Got help from staff and went to checkout with the two items.

Cashier asked me for more money than should have but tired old lady brain didn't register, so  paid her. Stood there after and checked receipt. Cat food was right, but dog food was $300 pesos too much.  Girl was confused by my (Spanish) questions becasue SHE knew the deal that I didn't.  In the end, all she could give me was a phone number for "Juan", but said he wasn't at the store until next morning.  Came home and called Juan, who was VERY accomodating and explained to me  they only offer a few CC items "on sale" every week, tho' they carry a much wider selection.  Asked him if they had the "age group advertised" and after checking, he came back to phone and said yes, he did, would set it aside, and I could go next day to exchange/ get pesos refund.  Deal!!

Next day drive out, food in trunk, to west store.  Girl informs me he's not there because he works in the main store.  Guess I was supposed to know that...... 😒    Anyway, BACK in car, all the way from west to east store, and after some difficulty with cashier ( I guess he's a major player, and doesn't juts come running) but told her to tell him who I was and why I was there, and he showed up quickly.  Exchange made. Cash refunded.  Then he took me into the east ( of the open courtyard) building where they have ONLY Costco items and showed me how to look at what I want, and IF it's "on sale" that week, there's bright orange sticker showing same.  Meanwhile everything else you might want is there, but NOT at CC prices.

Juan speaks English.  Only my good Spanish got me to him with other staff involved.  Lesson WELL learned!!!!!

No,   it would have been that  TP was in the "sale this week" group. (See details above for Kiko.)
