  1. Hey at least it hasn't been locked yet, not bad for four pages
  2. I'm guessing there are only a handful if any Mexicans renting from a foreign (mostly nob) landlord.
  3. With the peso being where it is I would think there would be less resistance to accepting pesos for rent as long as it's converted to what the landlord wanted in dollars. But who know where the peso will eventually go. Predicting is different that committing.
  4. You can "demand" until you're blue in the face, but if the landlord says no thanks, then what ? You move on until you find one that agrees, pretty simple. Unless there is a law prohibiting rent in dollars its not gonna happen
  5. Isn't it a "free market" ? If renters don't want to pay in dollars they have the freedom to look elsewhere. Most houses are sold in dollars so asking rent in dollars for the investment isn't unreasonable imo
  6. Without any major medical expenses, $2000 per month should be plenty for a nice life here especially with the peso devaluation. I know some people that live on $1300 per month. Rentals can be found for as little as $300 per month which leaves plenty for food and the rest. Come on over ! ( when safe )
  7. Thanks. BTW I watched multiple youtube videos on the rear differential oil change process and they all just drain and refill. Hopefully Autocheck will do it correctly
  8. Are you sure this is easy on newer cars ? I bought an expensive data link system which allows me to change certain things on my 2016 VW, but it won't even allow changing of the odometer. Hard to believe it would be easy. Have any more info on this ?
  9. Am I the only one worried SS will be paying out in three years when I'm eligible ? The music may stop with no chairs left....
  10. Like a lot of things there will be a bell curve of rental rates. On one end are the bargains, on the other the vacation rentals with high prices. My guess is that the higher priced rentals will drop in percentage more than lower priced ones. Is it possible that those people who have considered moving here at one time might speed up those plans ?, or will they be stuck where they are due to being unable to sell their house. ( for the price they want, not the market ).
  11. In San Antonio there are a lot of beautifully painted light poles. Anyone know the person or persons doing them ? We would love to commission a couple more
  12. Just stopped at Farmacias GDL in San Antonio and the entire staff except for one was sitting close to each other enjoying their lunch inside the store without masks on. yikes
  13. See, I told you. 75 cents higher than Texas lol. That surprising to me. At least the government is getting the same tax per gallon I assume
  14. I guess we are the "California" of Mexican states when it comes to gas prices here. I doubt gas can be had in Cali for much less than 3 bucks even now.
  15. Before paying big pesos for imported Neosporin, wondering if there is a made in Mexico equivalent available locally ? ..Thanks
  16. I had one once and gave it away to a visiting relative, haven't seen one since. Its a beauty
  17. It was the official correct spelling I was curious about, well aware of the B and V sound.
  18. I see signs for both and when I entered my postal code of 45906 on Costco's website it came up as Fracc. Riveras del Pilar, San Antonio Tlayacapan.
  19. I'm just glad pants aren't mandatory yet😀 The Taneytown Maryland Police Department issued a public plea on Facebook on Tuesday, hoping that their status update will scare the pants on the scofflaws. "Please remember to put pants on before leaving the house to check your mailbox," The department simply reminded. "You know who you are. This is your final warning." So, be kind in these trying times. Wear pants. Your local police will thank you.
  20. Futures now at 2 bucks ! cheaper than water. I exchanged dollars last week at 24.2, this morning, I was expecting much higher. Meanwhile the stock market is close to recovering most of the losses this year, crazy
  21. Its a well known fact that Russia and Saudi Arabia started an oil war but due to demand destruction and it was only a matter of time anyway . What's surprising is that the peso isn't devaluating today as a result of oil cratering but maybe the market saw it coming already.
  22. Cheaper than milk in a lot of places
