  1. OK Chillin, fine, you have 2 legs up on me since I don't know the lady and am not a doctor as you seem to claim you are. I do know the doctor in question and find it hard to believe he would diss a patient the way he is accused of doing. As I said, I would love to hear his side of the story. As far as what the patient does about pain relief I of course have no dog in the fight. I do agree with Mexico's stance on keeping a much tighter lid on the distribution of those drugs. If that makes it harder and more expensive to obtain, so be it. Go ahead and loosen up the rules and folks like gringal will be howling that it's Big Pharma just trying to hook people and make money. Sounds like the drug companies and doctors can't win either way. If it's too tough to get or pay for what you need in Mexico there's always that same road that heads the other way. But it's easier to side with the poor person in pain than an evil doc whose medical decisions get questioned by every Tom, Dick and Harry on a chat board. Give me a break.
  2. I know you won't see this Zeb, and good for you for figuring out how to block opinions that don't agree with yours. I don't think you followed your own advice when you attacked Dr. Garcia by name in your OP. Once you did that you invited others to disagree with you. That's how this board works. Buen Fin.
  3. .....and it ain't just pain medication.
  4. Thank you for that profound bit of advice.
  5. The next thing you know, someone will be moaning that SP or IMSS won't pay for the detox or whatever they think they need after some "evil physician" or "evil drug company" got them hooked on this stuff. Not them, no siree, all they wanted was a little pain relief and that evil cabal conspired to get them hooked.
  6. I've seen the devastation that stuff causes, I don't need to walk in anyone's shoes to be aware of what's going on. Anyone who had/has a medical necessity for that kind of pain medication was a fool to move to Mexico at worst, and at best failed to check beforehand. Is that positive enough for you?
  7. OK, here's a tip: I've read this kind of stuff is available without a prescription in many parts of the US. Try West Virginia, Ohio or Kentucky for starters. However, it will probably cost more than $800 MX. Mexico has seen what those pain meds have done to the US and has decided they are not going to be readily or cheaply accessible here. I say Bravo to them and to folks who gotta have them, do what you gotta do to get them.
  8. Your tale of woe speaks volumes.
  9. The way to apply for a Mod position has been discussed here before. Search it.
  10. Wouldn't it be fun to hear Garcia's side of the story? 😁
  11. I think Mexico is trying hard not to be another opiate den like the US. Good for them!!
  12. Good points. I was thinking of H E B, Kroger, maybe Randall's if they still exist. They tend to keep each other's prices in line vs. little competition here in Mexico. I'm aware they don't handle a lot of prime cuts.
  13. In Austin how many competitors does Costco have? And how many in Guadalajara? Methinks competition tends to keep prices down, but what do I know?
  14. Right on Xena. How did the thread wander into seeds? Nobody asked where to find seeds, I sure wish we could stop the hijacking of threads, sigh!
  15. Hahaha, I can just picture a newbie driving around lakeside and asking for directions to "mercado libre". "Is that in Chapala or past there?"
  16. Si, entiendo. But many newbies that want to continue doing what they did NOB are not aware that finding seedling vegs and fruits at all kinds of stores are not exactly that easy here. Not trying to dissuade anyone from gardening, just trying to save some "hunting all over the place" time. Mexicans being somewhat more picky with their time generally do not grow their own cucumbers or tomatoes.....thus not a huge supply to pick from. YMMV
  17. Herbs at Home Depot, haven't seen the others locally, the fruit is so cheap at the mercados.
  18. I read that CFE has an Amparo to prevent those small users from trying to enforce their contracts. Remember, this is the land of amparos of all kinds. The big solar suppliers are trying to get the case into court to resolve the whole thing more quickly than would normally happen here.. Their argument is that it will reduce solar growth in the future, no mention of the real victims, current users/producers. Sound familiar to anyone?
  19. Let's see....PM a Mod, become a Mod or start your own board and bar Dr. Santiago. Simple.
  20. If you have trouble finding qualified candidates suggest you visit down here in Puerto Vallarta. Many of these timeshare folks can sell freezers to Eskimos. Just be careful they don't sell you anything.......
  21. My driver's license has my CURP/RFC on it and says "RFC o CURP"
  22. Sorry, where's that face with the tongue in the cheek?
  23. That would encompass the vast majority of Board Members...........................................No?
