ajijicsolomon
We need to replace the tires on our mini van. Any recommendations lakeside? Costco in Guad is having a sale till Sunday are they that much cheaper. Would prefer not having to go into Guad.

RVGRINGO
Or, the tire place on the Libramiento. They can get what you need from Guadalajara. The service is excellent and their prices are fair. We used them for years for our two cars.
El Cartero
I wantedt 4 "exotics" that are $2,080 USD, not including mounting and balance,in Texas.in Guadalajara I found them for 22,000 pesos. Ended up betting them at the tire shop on the Libramiento for 16;800 pesos installed andbalanced. Michellin high speeds. There is no one there to speak English but no big deal, just write down the size and type and show them your note if you are linquisticaly challenged. Nice people, also have an outlet in Jocotopec. Worth your while to check out.

Al Berca
A friend saved over a thousand pesos on a set of tires on sale at Costco vs. three different places here for identical tires.
hensley
When we got tires last year we shopped all the tire places including Costco. We got the same tire that Costco had but at the Pemex station in Ajijic and it was cheaper.
Al Berca
As always, if one is looking for the best price, it pays to shop around, although when Costco has a sale it is usually pretty good.
Ezzie
I recently needed new tires on our SUV - a specific Michelin tire. I checked prices in Guadalajara at a couple of chains, on-line at major chains in Texas and the Michelin dealer on the Libramiento. The shop on the Libramiento was virtually identical in price to what could be had in Texas. Only problem I found is that nobody in the Chapala area has the special equipment needed to re-calibrate the tire pressure sensors (TPMS) on the newer vehicles so I ended up buying them in Texas. vetteforron
There is a tire warehouse in Villa Corona. Actually just before you arrive in the town on the right just past the Pemex. They have good prices mount and balance plus Nitrogen. Costco also has nitrogen.
El Cartero
Ezzie to recalinrate TPMS, at least on mine, is done on the internal message/information compiter control visualized on the dash screen. Sorry I cant explain better but you control input, such as changing time, yourself.
Ezzie
True, on the newer cars produced in the past couple of years (such as 2013-14 Hondas) but not on this vehicle. You need to use a TPMS Calibrator on the older models when the systems first appeared. This is a 2006 Ford Explorer with the Lear sensors.
