solajijic
I know, Guadalajara at the Abastos. But if I can find them locally I would rather pay a premium for them here. I need 18-20 larger size bags suitable for cookie presentation. Thanks.

MtnMama
For others who may also need bags, there are many small stores that sell a variety of sizes of plastic bags. One in Chapala is on the street on the north side of the Plaza, about 2/3 of the way down. They have dry beans and spices in the front along the sidewalk, but the plastic bags are in the back of the store.
Ferret
Just west of Colon, on the lake side of the carretera, there is a small store that you step down into that sells bags in many sizes. I buy the smaller plastic bags on a roll and use them as poop bags for my dog.
dave0415
Close to the Car Wash on Madero in Chapala there is a relatively large store that sells many things used by small businesses. You will find what you want there
ichbinsaege
The dulceria next to the surtidor on madero in Chapala, has the bags at the front counter. Many different sizes.
sparks
That's a desechables (throw away) store item ... no?
More Liana
That's a desechables (throw away) store item ... no? IMHO, the OP is looking for something that is suitable for a gift package--a stiff-ish clear plastic or cellophane bag that will hold a plate of cookies and tie up with a bow. Not the thin plastic bags that grocery stores and tianguis vendors use.
ichbinsaege
That's a desechables (throw away) store item ... no? No. They do have plates and such, but they have candies and balloons and anything for a party. They also have very nice cellophane bags, quality for using for a gift or item you are selling.
