playahal
New, to me, property that needs replacing water heater and propane tank. Tiendas in Chapala or Ajijic that have these items in stock?
Natasha
Ferreteria / construction place between El Barco and Multiva has large selection of propane tanks. Not sure about hot water tanks but Casa del Plomero should ( near Strom-White, mountain side. Unless you have buckets of extra cash, don't be sucked in by heaters that have ultra-fast double sets of burners for super-quick heating. They burn thru LP like a forest fire. This house has two ( only one of that type) and that one is permanently shut down now!! PM for more info.
Mostlylost
If you are Chapala your best bet would be Ferreterías Calzada https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ferreterías+Calzada+Suc.30/@20.2918632,-103.1996742,3a,75y,90t/data=!3m8!1e2!3m6!1sAF1QipNfKSlkiZFcfLNeiZHFfB5t5LM2Sha4pONAIJc0!2e10!3e12!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipNfKSlkiZFcfLNeiZHFfB5t5LM2Sha4pONAIJc0%3Dw152-h86-k-no!7i4032!8i2268!4m7!3m6!1s0x842f417fc9b0565d:0x2e1339f61b2487ab!8m2!3d20.2920278!4d-103.1996417!10e5!16s%2Fg%2F1v2jd79k?entry=ttu Many people here are replacing their hot water heaters with an on demand which won't require keeping a tank of water hot 24 hours. If you want to invest in your future consider a solar water heater. At our house gas is for the clothes dryer, BBQ, and oven. Spending under $1000mx a year on gas.

If we were owners would definitely get solar HW. Had it in the last (rented) house Excellent!! On-demand, on the other hand, was in the house before that -- two in fact --- and never worked worth a darn. Only my opinion. I know some like them. virgo lady
A great combo is a solar water heater feeding to a good on-demand that can have hot water input / pass thru. We have this setup from STI (Go Solar) and are very happy with it. Fast hot water and almost no gas use - but it kicks in automatically if needed.
