  1. We had two Chevrolets before that and another Lincoln SUV and all had warranty work and none were serviced at the dealer. I have new Cadillac XT5 and again not serviced at dealer.
  2. No. We had a 2016 Lincoln SUV. Never was it at a dealer for anything but warranty. Yet we had extensive repairs including replacing a leaking oil pan which would normally cost tens of thousands of pesos. In addition other repairs all under warranty. Oil changes, filters and regular maintenance were done at a local garage. At no time was that questioned.
  3. IMPORTANT NEWS: EXPIRED FMM TOURIST CARD Effective April 9 If your FMM has expired while in Mexico it is possible to renew it without travelling to the border. At most INM offices there are three fees: a review fee of 1365 pesos; a fine of 1737.60 pesos plus 575 pesos the cost of a FMM tourist card. A letter, bank payments and on-line forms, etc are required. In Puerto Vallarta INM has no fees and it is free. Spencer has posted some information as well. In San Miguel, clients do not have to leave their home as I do the complete process for them. Teresa who manages my office in Puerto Vallarta / Riviera Nayarit is available there. I asked at Inmigracion this week and I was told as of yet, there is no extension for travel letters and visas that expire while out of the country. I am at Inmigracion almost daily and several times a week, I post this and similar information. https://www.facebook.com/www.soniadiaz.mx/ I am also able to get answers from INM staff via Whatsapp most any time. www.soniadiaz.mx
  4. The dealer may tell you that but we have proven not so.
  5. The amount is 575 pesos for a new FMM. The only issue is if one has been entering repeatedly and consecutively with a FMM tourist card there is always a chance on their next entry they are told to go and apply for a temporary resident visa pre-approval. It does happen, including immediate deportation from an airport in Mexico.
  6. 575 pesos for another at the airport and as noted go early. They will not give you another on a prior day. Let's hope there are flights then to your destination. www.soniadiaz.mx
  7. If you quit working for a Mexican company then you need to change your status with SAT to inactive and then inform INM within 90 days of having done so. If you got your entry / work visa in to Mexico by being sponsored and quit working for that company you may be told to leave.
  8. Spencer those who enter with a pre-approved visa have a permit for 30 days when they apply at the border. I am still waiting to see one who obtained aTIP on-line.

  10. Thanks Spencer. I wonder if those with a pre-approved visa will have a 30 day or 180 day TIP? Up until now those who ordered a TIP on-line, even though pre-approved at a consulate were receiving 180 day TIP's.
  11. All consulate web sites are down and have been for 4 days. All of the Canadian consulates have raised their requirements 20% in keeping with the change in minimum wage. My web site has the requirements based on the law. Now I am waiting to see what the MX consulates do in the US. As to spousal amounts some consulates want the same full amount for both and others offer a reduction. There is no consistency. You may have to wait until consulate web sites are up again or contact them. I suspect maybe they will be standardized. Then again maube that is wishing for too much.:-) soniadiaz.mx
  12. The senate denied allowing nationalizing other than at the border. The senate dances to the tune and bribes of the powerful auto dealers.
  13. Mexican nationals living abroad may obtain a TIP as per here: http://www.soniadiaz.mx/vehicles.html
  14. The person who produces that record in Mexico City was ill and then died months ago. Since then I am not aware of any records being issued. As to re writing test I had a client do it twice in one day and he passed the second time.

  17. In several states one must be a citizen to obtain Seguro Popular. This includes the states of QRO and Guanajuato. Several of my clients go to Puerto Vallarta where Teresa who manages by business is able to obtain 3 years of SP. Coverage is national. At least in Guanajuato state I am told some time in December Permanent Residents may apply for Seguro Popular. The only one who will gain in challenging it will be the person who you pay to ask. In some states such as Nayarit the rules even vary from one SP office to another. www.soniadiaz.mx
  18. It is a must that as you enter Mexico you obtain a FMM marked CANJE. Your FMM and pre-approved visa must be date stamped.
  19. INM has not for 4 months plus, processed visa history requests nor time out of country and may not for rest of year. So you have lots of time to prepare. SRE in some cases will waive this requirement so all the more reason to record exits and entries.
  20. Correct except you do not get in the Mexican citizens' line.
  21. A spouse may sponsor as a temporary resident for one year and renew for one more year. Name matching on marriage license and passports must be identical as per my web site under "when sponsor is a permanent resident". http://www.soniadiaz.mx/immigration---visas.html
  22. Obviously you missed the point when I stated i response to: "but it is up to you to be able to list your exits and returns. They will check the details and add up the time out of country, confirming that with any existing FMMs and passport stamps, etc." You do not provide that to INM!!!!! And SRE accepts what INM provides. Does SRE ask for copies of course. I have processed several citizenships.
  23. Not true. The first step in citizenship is asking INM for a letter which includes history of visas and time out of country in past 2 years. INM does that without looking at your passport, FMM's are any other documents one has. They do not even have your passport. The letter is generated in Mexico City. And on a side note INM in Mexico City has not processed such a letter in 4 months since the person who does the letter died. I have processed several of these letters.
  24. Not true. They do not ask for receipts, tickets, nor even see your passport at the time one requests time out of country for the purpose of applying for citizenship. Nor is this a role of SRE.
  25. If one has a travel letter it is very difficult at Tijuana to obtain the necessary stamp when you leave Mexico and when you return. But it is a must. If not your visa process will be cancelled.
