  1. The ability to tolerate pain and the ability of pain meds to ease your pain are written in our personal genetic code. https://www.painmedicinenews.com/download/GeneticTesting_PMN0413_WM.pdf
  2. Try and cut back more slowly Pete than jumping down a full 50% at once. And run that by your Doctor friend. When your body gets used to something, it rebels unless you trick it. Baby steps. Best of luck!
  3. Yes, the logic is impeccable. My hubby's pain specialist in Guadalajara also stated that Mexicans are much more pain tolerant than other nationalities. Capsaicin?
  4. Lidia's store is Lake Med Centre... the store number is 376-766-2088 Her cell phone number is 333-156-9080 and that is the best way to get hold of her. She will either get you what you need or will know where to get it. She's knowledgeable and very caring. Best of luck!
  5. Thanks Sonia! You answered a lot of my questions.
  6. I'm sorry, I don't know. As a matter of fact, I had never heard of Rolfing before and had to look it up. Thought others might be interested to know too... https://www.drweil.com/health-wellness/balanced-living/wellness-therapies/rolfing/
  7. ROTFLMAO! Certainly was a good one. Too bad I could only like it once. I just think I may be getting some business cards made up. Thanks Mudgirl!
  8. Diane Pearl usually gets some red ones in for the holiday season. Ask... just in case they haven't been put out yet. Get the beeswax ones or you'll have a big mess on your hands with most of the others. Then you'll be posting about how to get the wax off your table. So... I have had great success with the little square plastic tabs from some breads and buns. Wait 'til the wax hardens then it just peels right off using the little plastic square.
  9. 'Tis true mudgirl. They sting... with their tails. But, until I saw that it was a scorpion, it just felt like something bit my butt... twice. I was not a happy camper and took it out on the scorpion who was only as upset and scared as I was.
  10. I got up one morning and put on my clothes and went to the dining room for coffee. Just as I was sitting down something bit me... I jumped up and was bitten again. I dropped my drawers and out fell a small scorpion with minutes to live. Took two Chloro Trimeton and slept for 12 hours. When I woke up the pain was gone and the swelling was minimal. Always a good idea to have some kind of anti-histamine on hand.
  11. Gives true meaning to "The lights are on but nobody's home".
  12. Back up in lower Riberas but my speed sucks again.
  13. If I haven't told you lately Spencer, I think you are a wonderful and compassionate man. Please, if there is any information about Euthanasia that could be included, it would be a Godsend. Why? Because is not always possible. Absolutely NO pain killers in ANY quantity gave my hubby relief from the pain. I would hope that no one should ever have to endure what he did.
  14. Yes, the Lancet is a more than suitable source. However, sometimes conventional medicine doesn't work and people look for alternatives. Until you are one of those people, you won't ever get it. I remember when Chiropracters were also considered quacks. An interesting read... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1847554/ I suppose you're in the group that doesn't believe in the benefits of medical marijuana either? Sometimes it just takes time for the "proof" to catch up with all the anecdotal evidence.
  15. Likewise...If you can prove that it IS a fraud, please do so. I have benefited from homeopathy twice...my dog who was very afraid of thunder and fireworks always calmed right down with Rescue Remedy. I recently benefited by taking Ignatia for grief. Each to his/her own.

  17. Chopo is the very large Guadalajara Lab that Isi (next to Dermika) sends their samples. It is the only lab that we will use.
  18. Riding the bus is a delightful idea if you're not handicapped. My hubby couldn't even stand and wait for the bus, never mind get on one. This is definitely a country for driving defensively. But I've seen infractions by both gringos and Mexicans alike so I'm not pointing fingers at anyone...but I gotta tell ya that my eyebrows hit my hairline on a daily basis. OMG!
  19. Interesting. I have lived in Mexico for nineteen years. We have had a Mexican plated car for eighteen of those years. Yes, we have been stopped for traffic violations (deserved)and no I don't pay mordida. The first year we were here, we were driving a Canadian plated van and never got stopped...not once.
  20. It doesn't matter what kind of a car you own... So, did you do something wrong to warrant getting pulled over? If so, why didn't you just ask for the ticket and go and pay it? It probably would have cost less than what you paid. Never pay a mordida...NEVER.
  21. Nuthin' like a great haircut to put the bounce back in your step. Thanks for sharing and have a great holiday!
