It's a support for a steel pergola that apparently couldn't make it here without a character-building experience, so to speak. You can see what I mean from the photos below. (The notch receives a cross-piece.) Most aceros I've found (for example, Poli Acero) are distributors or serve contractors, and won't bother with a small repair. I could force it to work, but first I want to see if there's not a shop that has special tools and can do a better job. Any suggestions? John Shrall Posted April 24, 2023 Report Share Posted April 24, 2023 You could try taking the piece to the iron guys on the mountain side of the carretera east of Tempisque or take it to Toncho on 5 de Febrero between Hidalgo and Ocampo on the west side of the street. I've used Toncho a lot for iron projects over the last couple of years. He's talented and creative. Spanish only of course. Go just past the cross street on the left, where there is a closed abarhote on the corner and they are next to it on the left.
