J.Miller
I have always crossed at Laredo but am giving some consideration to Brownsville when I return to Canada at the end of April. I have no particular reason for this but I have always been curious: what's the difference? Has anyone experienced both and if so what is you preference and why? Mainecoons
Where are you going in Canada? East or west? Suggest you take a look at the Pharr, TX, crossing. Much lower tolls than Laredo, you completely bypass all major towns after Lagos de Moreno, INCLUDING Reynosa. Can drive there in a day and stay at reasonably priced TravelLodge just a few miles north of the border crossing.
J.Miller
We are headed for Southern, Ontario. I love the idea of driving through Mexico in a day but but I don't know how Pharr, Tx. would line up with our destination. I will try and track it down on a map. What highway would we be takeing after Lagos de Moreno?
Mainecoons
The two routes are the same from here until north of San Luis Potosi. Read all about the Pharr to Ajijic route here: http://www.chapala.com/webboard/index.php?showtopic=38395&hl=pharr#entry300896
