    Our old (eleven years) desktop is getting to an age where it is going to need replacing soon. I am wondering if anyone locally sells a desktop with English keyboard and software? Also, it would be handy to know what to expect in terms of cost to replace a desktop; by the way, I will not need a monitor as mine is new.

    I posted this question for friends who are having some kind of problem with their system. I am not sure who they called but whoever it was, did not show up, but I will pass on the information on SOSE. Are there other service companies?

    johanson we didn't go with a back up battery system for power outages during the rainy season because we were told that batteries are very expensive an not necessarily reliable. I am still drawn to a battery though as I think it would be nice to have power during blackouts. Can you comment on your battery, pro or con and how expensive are they?

    johanson We went with e-sun too and were told that some people have their credit wiped out at the end of the year if it hasn't been used and others do not. It sounds like there isn't a whole lot of consistency and it depends a lot on your personal luck!

    We have had solar for a few months and our bills have been 46 pesos but a couple of weeks ago we had four min-splits installed and they have run pretty much all day every day so I am wondering what to expect on our next bill. The units are two one and a half ton and to one ton units. I have to say that even if it costs us more, and I am sure that it will, it has been wonderful being able to cook without suffocating and to sleep comfortably at night; as for the dry air and the decrease in dust due to the closed windows we are feeling pretty spoiled here!

    Thank you everyone; you have all been very helpful. Can anyone tell me how long installation takes? Not that it is important, I am just curious from first contact to finished product was it days or weeks?

    Thanks all and yes, Bournemouth, I would like the e-mail address of E2Energias, now SmartPV. I would like to gather a few facts and estimates before making any decisions and although cost is a consideration, quality of installation and guarantees are an extreme consideration.

    I know that this has been covered before but I would like some updated information on the pros and cons of going solar. I would like the names of the best companies to deal with either here or in Guadalajara (if they would consider installation Lakeside) and it would be nice to hear the good, the bad and the ugly of your experience with Solar and solar companies.

    Hi Saturn I was wondering if you could tell me more about the private clinic that you have mentioned on my thread.  I am not getting anywhere with S.P. and I think I may have to book an appointment at the clinic in Guadalajara that you go to for tomography (?).

    I see that you have provided a telephone number but before I call I wonder if you could tell me if there is an English speaking person to book appointments and if so would this be a different number than the one that you posted.

    Also, I will have to arrange for transportation and I am wondering how long you waited to get an appointment.  I am thinking that I should maybe have my potential driver book the appointment as she will have to arrange for a time when she is available and I am free pretty much whenever.

    I have discovered a lump and though I am sure that it is nothing more than a cyst I would like to be sure so any additional information that you can give me regarding your experience would be gratefully received.

    Hi:

    I can think of two possible homes for the little white chi but one friend is leaving for Canada a week from today (driving) so probably could not arrange for shots to cross the border.  Another friend is not convinced that she wants another dog and yet when she visits our home, our little chi mix's feet never hit the floor; she is being held and cuddled all the time by our friend.  I have been anxious to see a picture or find out where DR. Karen is so that I might be able to help place this girl if she is still available.

    As you have been a painter I was hoping that you could answer my question about salitro (sp?).  We have had a lot of new construction done in our house and on some of the new plaster we have large areas of salitro appearing a year later, about twenty inches up from the floor.  The contractor told me that it is coming from the ground which I question because there is no sign of it at floor level above the baseboards.  We are about to dig it out ourselves and repair; do you know how to combat this problem.  We have a new roof and eves that carry away the rain water and sidewalks surrounding the house so I can't think that it is caused but damp but it is very frustrating.

    I am sure that I bought parchment paper at Super Lake. I believe it was in the far left hand aisle (on the right hand shelves) when you enter the store, and nearly to the back if you want to trust my memory! But I believe that it was in Super Lake about two years ago and, as I recall, they had two different size rolls and some packaged loose sheets as well. I had visiting family bring me peppermint extract from Canada and I bought canned pumpkin when I was home on Holiday, but again I think Super Lake has it. Of course it was a little expensive but available.
