HoneyBee
Hi, I need to have a TV cable installed in a new apartment. The builder installed the various outlets and installed the imbedded conduits (hopefully not blocked). Any recommendation to get the cables pulled and connected. Thanks
Mainecoons
Did the builder put pulling wires in the conduit? I think any electrician with the proper tools can help you. They are accustomed to pulling wires.
HoneyBee
Hi Mainecoons, I have not yet removed any plug covers, but if there is no pull wires, I can get a "snake" at home depot that theoretically would do the job. I would need to find an electrician that has coax cable termination tools as well.
Mainecoons
Electrical snakes are different than plumbing snakes. Any good electrician should have one. I'd let them do the pulling, it is a tricky business with this serrated plastic conduit and experience is a real plus.

Mainecoons
You could try Arturo who does electrical work for one of the Solar companies. Arturo 3336612193

Mainecoons
You're welcome. If anyone else has a suggesting for someone who works more specifically with CATV and telephone wiring, please post if for HoneyBee, thanks!
TelsZ4
When you pull wires in conduit you "Fish" them... So the thing for getting wire through conduit is called a "Fish Tape" I know they sell them in Home Depot.
Mainecoons
What the builders put in our unused conduit was light guage wire, bent into a hook on each end.
HoneyBee
Thanks TelsZ4. I plan on getting the coax cables pulled before I get the floor tiled, just in case...... I will check to see what the electrician comes up with before making a trip to home depot. Mind you hanging out at home deport is always a lot of fun! If you do try to do it yourself you would be wise to get a jar of wire lube (Electricians call it soap) it helps the wire slid through the conduit.. If you can't find any you could use dish soap... Not as good but it's better than nothing...
