Employment project for the Lakeside Area

After 2 years in the employment project, it is high time to update my database with job seekers. A lot of the 1100 candidates have moved, changed cell phones or might have new qualifications.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 18th, at 3 pm, I will be at the LCS in Ajijic and Monday, September 24th, at 9 am at the Chapala American Legion, I will receive job seekers and also hope that people who are looking for workers will show up as well.

Job seekers can apply for ANY kind of job (caregiver, teacher, waiter, cook, cleaning lady, computer specialists, and more ....) for the Lakeside area from Mezcala to Jocotepec.

They just bring a copy of any kind of ID (and a pen) and I will explain them how it works and the info that I need from them (qualifications, English yes or no, references, car yes or no,.....etc ). I will try to interview as many as I can, since I learn so much through a short personal contact.

There will be NO charge for me being the middleman.

People looking for workers are also very welcome (actually, everybody is ... ).

Please, tell restaurant owners, business people, ..... that they are invited. By helping to spread the news, we will be more successful. I already put ads out in the local newspaper, stores and in the social media.

My only goal is to make sure that more people get to work but also that if you happen to need a nurse (as an example) that after contacting me (only by e-mail : elbelgicano@yahoo.com ), you will have someone with you tomorrow, if necessary. Again, no charge.

There is nothing like this kind of job fair in the area and in the 2 years, I realized how much it is needed.

This is my blog : http://vivachapala.blogspot.mx/

Thanks to you all for helping in this and best greetings,

Rony

I have been reading about the severe labour shortage in Panama. In particular, skilled technical people and trades people. The panama-guide website pointed to a couple of articles. I just thought I would mention it. It would be interesting, should you encounter any people who fit this category, to know if they are aware of the opportunities abroad. I can get more information if you want.

Great tip, Val, and good thinking.

Through the project, I do meet people who are looking for opportunities abroad. I have not had time to read your link yet but I will keep it and pass it on to interested people.

Thanks !

  • 3 weeks later...

Considering how difficult and expensive it is for Mexicans to get passports, I don't see how working abroad is an option for many .

This sounds like it is a very necessary service to the area and I hope it was a great success.

Thanks,....

And yes, all together I have about 100 new candidates (+ the 1100 to 1200 I had before),.... but unfortunately (not yet) not enough jobs coming in. For the last 3 weeks, I have only been contacted twice, with a job offer.
