howardF
A friend of mine recently passed away while NOB and his widow has not yet returned home. They have two cars here, one in each name. What will she have to do to get rid of the extra car? She would prefer to keep the one that is in her husbands name. Will both vehicles have to be driven out of Mexico and then return with the decedents car transfered to her name? I hope there's an easier solution for her. Thanks for your help. RVGRINGO
The simplest solution is for her to ask a friend to drive one of the cars and that they take both to Texas, having Aduana remove the stickers from both cars. Once there, she should have the necessary paperwork to transfer title of her husband's car and sell, auction or donate the excess car; returning to Mexico with the proper importada temporal in her own name. (having the owner's permission may be inadequate for insurance purpises, and with one of these vehicles, the owner has passed away and is unable to give permission.) condolences to your friend.
