cosalamx Posted July 8, 2010 Report Share Posted July 8, 2010 We crossed using Mariposa crossing about 8 a.m. with no difficulty. The US side is a little confusing with some construction and increased security measures immediately before the border. You now wind through several concrete barricades, placed very close together, to get out of the USA. We got a red light at the 20 km. checkpoint, a very pleasant bi-lingual officer opened two of our suitcases, but asked no questions about the three large cardboard boxes, and passed us through, it took about 5 minutes. There was little sign of increased army or police presence at the border or along the way. There has been a lot of work done on the Mexican highways and they continue to improve.
