NewsPresumed sicarios with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel brandish their weapons in El Volantín.
CJNG convoy arrives with show of force in Jalisco town; ‘We’re not going away’
Jalisco cartel claims territory in El Volantín, a town of 500 in Tizápan el AltoPublished on Wednesday, June 22, 2022- 31SHARES
The Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) has announced its arrival in El Volantín, a small town in Jalisco near Lake Chapala, and it doesn’t plan on leaving any time soon.
A video showing a group of some 20 armed men in bulletproof vests, some of which were emblazoned with the CJNG initials, circulated on social media on Tuesday.
“We’ve arrived in Volantín and we’re not leaving,” some of the men shout. One declares that they are all members of the “four-letter” cartel, which is based in Jalisco but operates in most Mexican states.
The video was filmed on Juárez street one block from the main square in El Volantín, reported the newspaper El Universal, which used Google Street View to confirm the location. The town, home to approximately 500 people, is located next to the El Volantín dam in the municipality of Tizápan el Alto, which borders Michoacán.
The nearby towns of Mazamitla, Jalisco, and San José de Gracia, Michoacán, are considered strongholds of the CJNG, whose leader Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes is a wanted man in Mexico and the United States.
Recent violence in the region has been attributed to a turf war between the CJNG and a crime group called Los Pájaros de la Sierra. The Tizápan el Alto police chief was ambushed and killed earlier this month while traveling on a local highway.
Authorities haven’t commented publicly on the new CJNG video, which El Universal sources say was filmed sometime during the past two weeks.
Jalisco cartel henchman have shown off the criminal organization’s immense firepower in many other videos posted to social media. One that appeared online in 2020 showed scores of heavily-armed and masked men shouting support for “El Mencho” while standing alongside a long convoy of armored vehicles.

Kiko, I believe you, but like I said there are no numbers on the back of my factura. There is no QR code, whatever that is, there is no barcode. My RFC number starts with BOXH.. Give me your email address and I will scan the back, and front if you want that also to you. In the long run this is all academic because I will be going to CFE Chapala to ask why my code was not added to my factura. I just find it interesting there is such a difference. Are you in Jocotepec?
-
This interesting. I do not have two pages with my CFE bill but if you are all calling the back of the bill of page 2 I do not find anything of what could be a QR code. The back of mine is a history of my usage and a lot of advertising. On the front is a barcode at the bottom with two rows of numbers, neither of which is my RFC code. For those of you who do have your RFC number somewhere. Is it listed as RFC, or you just recognize your number?
-
Good for you Kiko. So it does work. Now, I just need to go back and ask why mine was not there. There are lots of strange numbers but nothing close to my RFC. Was yours close to the bar code?
-
The RFC is shown on CFE bills just above the bar code. As I said when I started this discussion. I was in one month ago and gave them my RFC number. It did not appear on my bill for this month. I am still trying to learn if anyone else who had there RFC number reported to CFE and if it has appeared on this bill. -
I was told that now when we purchase a car we have to present a copy our CFE bill with the RFC. I believe it will also be required for other transactions. If this not true then I will not worry. Jim Bowie please let me know it is on your bill when you receive it.
-
One month ago I went to the CFE office and gave them my RFC number to have it added to my bi-monthly factura. Supposedly that was done. Today I received my new statement and there is no RFC number on it. Anyone else with info on this topic?
-
This is encouraging. Also, there is a tropical storm named Blas offshore but headed up the coast our way.
-
Don't wait for them to come to you. Go to the office.

I am very pleased with my Telmex Fiberoptic. I never lose WiFi except when the electricity is out. Before Fiberoptic I was always losing WiFi. I am in Upper Ajijiic. I pay the same fee that I did before $389/month. The only charge for the installation was for the cable itself.

Yesterday (Thursday) 1.5 inches at my house in Upper Ajijic. This morning 1 inch. I declare the rainy season has started.

Dear Governor,
May I suggest that you stop worrying if the cars tires have the correct pressure, that the antifreeze and oil are full, that the car is clean, etc, and focus on checking for the pollutants being emitted by the car, like in previous years the program might function more efficiently.
Your truly, Floradude

Chapalence, have you been to Ocotlan? To the station? I would like to hear from someone who actually done this.
It is not on Highway 35. It on on Hidalgo which is off of 35.
When you enter Ocotlan and cross the river, continuing on Highway 35 is the exit marked name/number where you turn?
-
I know that. My question was where does one make the left turn?
-
I could have been more clear above. When your application is accepted you will immediately receive an email back with your formal verification. For example, after my full name there was this.
Hemos creado una cuenta con tu correo electronico. Se ha agendado una cita para verificacion del vehiculo con placa XXXXXXX para el dia 2022-06-09 con horario de 09:30 en el Centro CVR 0004.
This is followed with lots of information, including the payment.
Note: At first I could not find my reply in my email. It turned out my computer put it in my junk mail.
-
I have looked at all the maps and I have a general idea where the facility is located. What I cannot figure out is where I make the left turn off of highway 35 to get to the facility on Hidalgo. If you have already done this please help a lost sole.
-
After your applications is accepted you will receive back information. One of them is that, now you have your application you have 3 days to pay the $500 fee or your appointment will be cancelled. If you think about it this is the good way to do it. The appointment is the hard part. Paying at the Recaudadora is simple. Better to have your appointment before paying, than paying first and then not getting an appointment.
-
Having just made my appointment and paid for it at the recaudadora I read through the translation of the information I printed out along with the confirmation of my appointment. This is where they tell what things will be tested on the car. Remember this is an English translation of the Spanish.
"Engine fluids must be at their level (oils and antifreeze). The tires must be in good condition and with the correct pressure. Cooling hoses must be in good condition. Previous mechanical maintenance is recommended. Preferably, it should be in hygienic conditions."
Do you see anything about testing the exhaust?????
-
Oh, I did not want to hear that.
Rainy season?
