For 6- years we have used the Golden Rule as our guide.
I would pay her finiquito figured by an abogado with paperwork all legal, and wish her well.
ABC Legal in Ajijic can help you with this for a very reasonable fee.

Last time I looked, she was still there.
Her hours vary, so check again before giving up.

With the resent worldwide inflation, anyone have comments on pay scale for domestic help? We always give an annual increase based on inflation. We are in the 62-70 pesos / hour range right now ( 2022).
That is low IMO, but I get slammed about this every time it comes up.
Our house cleaner has worked for us for about 4-years. We don't pay by the hour per se, rather by the visit. She is generally here 4-hours and we are up to $500/visit.
She started out at $300 and we have increased her pay every January.
This year, because of inflation, we gave her what would have been her Jan. 2023 increase in July.
Every time she receives an increase, she finds additional work to add to "mi trabajo".
I wouldn't consider paying her less.

I just remembered that Colibrí Garden sells at the Tuesday Market.

Thanks. I had already done that, but was specifically replying to AmNGDL.

That is a bit far to go for a pie, thanks for the suggestion though.
Does Panino sell whole pies to go?
Apple, cherry, peach, blackberry, any quality whole fruit pie carry outs.
They would, I'm sure, but rather spendy.
Their fresh strawberry pie is to die for.
Colibri Garden offers all you asked about save for peach.

A little far to go for a pie when you live in Ajijic..
Good grief!
We have to drive through SAT, Walmart, La Floresta, and Ajijic traffic to get to many things we like or need to do. We don't whinge and whine, we just get in the car and enjoy the scenery.
The "village" isn't the end all and be all of life lakeside, thank gawd.

I guess all he needs to know is that Go Solar is a member who might be able to answer his question.
He can be contacted by using the web mail service found in the upper right corner.
Or, Go Solar might see this and answer him here.

I have a question about CFE net metering. I had a new solar system with a hybrid inverter with battery backup installed this year in Boca de Tomatlan, just south of Puerto Vallarta. I have a bi-directional meter but my CFE bill does not reflect the solar power sent to the grid. The GroWatt system has a data logger so I know exactly how much power is going to the grid. My installer contacted CFE but nothing has happened. My CFE bills are going up and are higher now than before the solar panels were installed. My installer said some special form is needed, but I can't seem to get what I need. I am frustrated and I am tempted to go off grid. Wondering if getting legal service would help. Anyone have any suggestions or advice?
Thanks
Contact Go Solar and ask him.

Superlake has had it from time to time.
If it was me, I would learn what it is called in Spanish and ask around at some ferreterías.

No matter how many times the very knowledgeable Mostlylost says that if you live in the lakeside area you don't need to get your car inspected or carry a piece of paper or, or, or.... few seem willing to listen.
Good grief.

I lost contact with a friend, Charles Rutherford. He was living in Lake Chapala & I assume, he is now deceased.
I have tried F-book, email, and last phone contact.
Is there a registry I can visit to ascertain my friend's death?
I recall seeing a post on FB about a year ago that he died.
I have no further info than that.

That sounds like more Gringo hearsay, but if you have read something by the Jalisco government that states this, I would like to read it.
Can you imagine how many people from other cities and states pass through Guadalajara every day who haven't had their cars inspected? Who is going to go after these thousands of motorists to issue them tickets?
Sometimes, common sense, plus keeping up with Mexican news pages answers most questions.

This has been discussed over and over again, but here goes again.
Only residents of the larger cities need to get their cars inspected. Residents of this area are not required to have their cars inspected.

Wouldn't you contact the person you paid or are paying for the service?

New house has a fireplace. Tried to search here for the fake logs but no results. Where to buy? Have you seen them? I think the name is Duraflame.
Amazon.com.mx for the better price, or they sometimes have them at Superlake for twice the price.

I hear ya about crowds. But, I do not have a Mexican credit card so have been paying someone to do the various payments for me the past few years. Extra cash for them in an irregular work environment caused by the pandemic.
Great idea, Ferret.
It is kind of you to consider the needs of others in these rather challengingtimes. 😊

I believe chapalence is paying with his credit card ONLINE at the website given... same as you would pay Amazon.com for whatever... and that is also the reason for the warning that the security certificate is not up to date.
You are correct, Ferret.
I started paying online at the site I mentioned the first year they offered that option. Covid and crowds weren't and aren't my cup of tea

This is the site, however it is currently NOT an https or secure site. "This server could not prove that it is pagos.chapala.gob.mx; its security certificate expired in the last day."
I have paid mine online with my BBVA CC the last 3- years. It is so much better than dealing with the crowds at ayuntamiento.

Locally for powder I would check El Granero, next to Gossips.

Aljibe water level gauge
in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
Posted
Not sure exactly what you're looking for, but the pipa guys will tell you that if you suspect a leak to use a long pole like the type to dust your eaves, and before bed mark the level in your tank on the pole and then check it again in the morning.
Our aljibe "hatch" is in our bodega and I can just open it to my water level.
