  1. Actually if it was Juan who cleaned your teeth, he is not a dentist. He is a student and does not have a licence to practice anything yet. Be careful
  2. We have lived in CH for the past 9 years. We love it here. The rules etc are put into place to assist residents against things like "an auto shop opening up next door, screaming loud music all night, etc. We find it very peaceful, tranquil and lovely. Many of us wouldn't live anywhere else Lakeside. We don't get the "walking traffic", we are a eco community with tons of colorful birds. We have a active security guard who travels the Fracc all day, every day and he is our extra eyes and ears. We also have a large amount of security cameras located throughout our Fracc. We are a large community, growing everyday - lots of new building going on here. Being a 5 minute drive to Sorianna and Chapala and a 8 minute drive down the libra to Walmart and not to mention only a 25 minute ride to the Guadalajara airport, Chapala |Haciendas is fast becoming the "new central location! Yes, the ground moves some, but it does all over Lakeside. I hope this gives you some insight about our lovely community.
  3. Agree with the above posts. We have lived here just over 8 years and although the crime activity has increased this past year, keep in mind that it always seems to when we have a government change! Gets a little rocky for a time then all quiets down again. It is something you just have to get use to and relax with. It 's just how it is in this country. Like it or not. We feel very safe here - well, then again I guess everybody feels safe until they don't. Do your research and remember that there is no perfect place on this planet, but this is as close to perfect (for us) as we can find.
  4. BEST LAD - by far the "best".. Owner Fransisco and Gabby are amazing. I highly recommend them. Stay away from GO LAB in Maskaras Plaza. Had two tests done that were both "very wrong".
  5. Thanks for the great info . We too always loved the place.............living in Chapala Haciendas, this will be our go to place once again. So happy to read this.
  6. Does anyone know anything about Dr.Christina at Leed Dental - they are located beside Quality Care?
  7. I totally get that. Same thing happened to me twice down here. |I have spinal stenosis and was told I would be in a wheelchair if I didn't get a 3 level spinal fusion immediately!! I ran (well, limped) away as fast as I could. Now, after a year of continual physical therapy and daily exercise I am still "not in a wheel chair!" Guess we will always be "the wallets" here. Arghhh.
  8. To have a doctor as qualified as Dr. Santiago answer so many questions and offer so many medical opinions is of great value. Why would anyone object? Thanks Dr. Santiago for your help. And, I do not use Dr. Santiago services but do appreciate his dedication. Wookie, do you feel the same when Spencer McMillan posts?? Just wondering!
  9. Can this be done to help with spinal stenosis?
  10. What about this proceedure for spinal issues? Anybody know?
  11. I need to rent or buy a good quality sewing machine for about a month - making new curtains and duvet cover for my home. If anyone has one , please let me know. Thanks
  12. Welcome to Chapala Haciendas! If you go to the Fracc Office and speak with our Fracc Manager David, he is very knowledgeable, is mexican, knows alot of "helping hands" in our own community. Speak with David first, he'll be able to direct you. Welcome to the neighborhood!
  13. Most of them here are just that. Yard handymen. They will do what you ask but most won't take initiative on their own. Our gardener has been with us for 6 years now and is good. We have taught him the difference between a weed and a plant, have taken time to show him how to propertly prune, trim, fertilize (schedule posted in bodega), etc. When we first bought our home he was the gardener here for over 12 years - doing a terrible job. But, with patience, work and time he has become a cherished employee and someone we trust completely. He loves it when guests comment on what a beautiful yard we have - we chuckle and remember back. Win, Win.
  14. 70 pesos an hour? No way. We pay ours 50 an hour - that is still the going rate here.
  15. Another huge vote for Dee's place. With our 7 dogs, we wouldn't leave them with anyone other than Dee. She is kind, patient, pack leader and truly loves the doggies. Her mother lives next door and runs a similar boarding business for the cats & birds!! Dee's place is absolutely doggie heaven with lots of room to run and play. Dee has spent a great deal of money creating this wonderful pet haven. Please do call her and she would be happy to show you what she has to offer! Her number is 762-1646.
