If you post here on a subject do you not expect others to post opinions to that?

Isn't he/she  entitled to post their opinion without being chastised for it? Can't a person have an opinion when asked for it by someone else, without you getting ugly? After all, someone else wanted his/her opinion and it does not have to agree with yours. EVER !

OK, that was good for a laugh this morning.  LOL

Seriously, avoiding the stations that seem to have "small " liters is going to save a lot more than a few centavos.  Anyone care to comment on which stations are the most likely NOT to have this problem?

Our experience in Guanajuato for several months has been that we avoid Pemex stations like the plague and use Shell and Mobil. These have new pumps and so far seem to give Much better gas mileage than we almost always got from Pemex stations. All say the gas is Pemex, but the newer ones don't seem to cheat much , yet ! Still need to watch the readings as they deliver it.

What is up with the racist sounding comments suggesting that caucasian girls would not feel comfortable or be safe at Lakeside?  Last time I checked, a good large number of the Mexican children and teens are what I would consider to be caucasian whites with blue eyes to boot.  Sure, there aren't many that look Scandinavian, but many are of European ancestry in this part of México.  Locally, they are affectionately called güeros and güeras, and they seem to be doing just fine, living comfortably and safely along the lake.

I wondered when we would get the "race card" played. Dependable reply when the majority doesn't think the way you do. Another thing for the OP to look out for here at Lakeside. We gotum.

I would question "brake failure". She had to drive to Pancho's and likely used her brakes several times before she got there and even to park. Perhaps she bled the brakes dry BUT you can tell when your brakes are working - it is either really hard to push the pedal or really easy i.e. thru the floor. Common sense should kick in and you don't continue to drive.  AND there are skid marks on the floor so .....   image.thumb.png.479f0e27c18e0381750dd93a20d36efe.png

The skid marks don't appear to align with the car. Added later?

The dealer said they will only accept a bank transfer and nothing else, my thoughts are:
I have the vehicle checked out and the mechanic says its in great condition with no issues, but people make mistakes and the car could arrive in working order, but after driving it for a wk i notice a major issue or a hidden accident damage, with a bank transfer the car would pretty much be as is with no protections

Exactly, they give you no protection. You get what it is and they really don't care if you buy it or not. It is just up to you.

Ah, that explains it. My husband and I went to Ajijic so he could go into a nursing home, while I returned to the US to work.  Someone at one of the homes we looked at said it was possible to get his extension without his leaving Mexico. This was last month. I'm back in the US trying to figure out how to arrange his extension before it turns into a crisis. He has a doctor at his Ajijic nursing facility, so the medical certification won't be a problem. If anyone has a suggestion for an attorney to help me with an extension, I'd appreciate a message.

And now, the rest of the story ! :D

As far as I know you have no real reason to change your name on your Mexican birth certificate therefore you can't. You can go to the American Embassy or an American Consulate in Mexico with a letter explaining you go by 2 names and have them verify your name in the USA by providing documentation and they will notorize the letter adding a letter that you have an alias [AKA - Also Know As] which will be the name on your Mexican birth certificate and Mexican passport. This is all you need. Remember when in the US use your US passport and legal name and when in Mexico use the Mexican passport and that name.

Exactly what my wife does. When we are in Mexico, she uses her "Mexican name" and all the Mexican I.D.s, etc., and in the US, she uses her newer married name and has become a US citizen using that name. Never a problem. Good luck.

We’ve been living in Ajijic for a short time but we want to take a weekday trip on a luxury bus. Say a 4 - 6 hour bus ride. Not the beach. Too hot. Probably a colonial city. Any suggestions?

Morelia/Patzcuaro. Queretaro. SMA. Each deserves 2-3 days. You will want to return.

Red states leave billions sitting in the table for Medicaid and refuse to expand it. This is Tennessee https://www.healthinsurance.org/tennessee-medicaid/

Cry me a river ! LOL !!! That is what the people of those states want for their Citizens! Who do you think you are, their choice is none of your business. When will people like you finally realize that what you think is not important to those who run the show. Consequences !  LOL

  10. I remember asking Jose' in Chapala about why he allowed someone to bring their dogs inside his Place and he replied that they often came in with several friends and spent a lot. We told him that then he would not miss our business and that has been 5 years that we have not returned. Liked eating there but did not like eating with dogs at our feet.

Thanks for that Xena. We'll be coming late April early May so we should get a taste of how hot it is.

These months (March, April, May, early June) we find the weather much more pleasing and comfortable in Texas, so 'we head North to Central Texas area until the rainy season starts (about middle of June). We think we get the best of both "worlds" that way. YMMD :D

Well - landlords always ask high, and in U.S.$ - then negotiations start from there. Of course landlords can rent in U.S$ and under the table - but if that tenant decides to leave, there is nothing they can do about it. Best for renters to consider this type of rental as temporary, until they can find something more suitable, or go back to wherever they came from, or to another part of Mexico, or the world.

    Well....   :D
