sparks
Neighbors brought me a plant (cutting) after a few gringos were talking about it and other edible weeds. Any ideas or recipes http://drlesliekorn.com/articles/medicines-from-the-jungle/chaya/ Chaya, also known as "tree spinach," was one of the first plants offered by indigenous peoples of the Yucatan to the arriving Europeans. Chaya (from the Mayan “chay”) grows easily and is cultivated near homes throughout the coast of Jalisco as a source of food and medicine.
saintmartin
We would do anything to be able to grow Chaya. We ate and drank this wonderful plant while in Merida. Chaya is used in many wonderful drinks and dishes served in Yucatan restaurants. It is very...very good for your body. We had our gardner try to grow it ..not much luck. The garden center is West Ajijic next to Arroyo Alto was able to get a cutting for us.

sparks
I boiled some and it was fiberous. Me thinks younger leaves or trim them. The tea from the water tasted healthy but I imagine adding a thing or two would help. I'm on the Jalisco coast and it grows wild here
