SS direct deposit in Bancomer....1099 has Mexican address.....wonder if I'll ever see it....sigh. Sure could use it!

Same here, but since I have never received anything in the mail at Roca Azul or my P O Box in Jocotepec and went ahead and file a tax return with my iShop address in Laredo although I did not have to file.  Four days later, I check Get My Payment, and there was a message saying that my check would be mailed on July 24, and in their form they had my address in Laredo which was never there before.  Maybe, I will get my check mailed to Laredo, and eventually to iShop in SJC.

Sometime back, maybe 6 weeks ago, someone posted that a deadline was fast approaching to file a short form with the IRS to include where you wanted any deposits made. In spite of the Stimulus website saying DON'T do anything if you are a SS recipient who receives direct deposit, I filed the short form which took me maybe 5 minutes.

Boy, am I glad I did! Within a couple of days, the check your stimulus page showed me when and to what account our deposit would be made and it that's exactly what happened.

From what I've read, the IRS is not "well connected" to the info the SSA has. If, like me, you've had no reason to file with the IRS for a number of years, they may have attempted to deposit to the last account in which you received a refund. Enough time had passed that I didn't want to risk this, thus the reason I heeded the advice and filed a mini-return. Maybe you still can? The info was on the  check my stimulus page.

Like you I had not filed for a while and my SS check is deposited to a Mexican bank and the address on the SS1099 is my physical address in Mexico but since I live in a rural area where no mail is delivered I was afraid I would never see that check.  So, I did what you did and filed last weekend, I have not received any communication from the IRS but when I check on Get My Payment the address which I filed my tax which is a mail forwarding service in Laredo came up automatically on the form.  IRS acknowledge and approved my filing so I expect that maybe after July 23, the check will finally make it

On May 24, the IRS mailed me a letter stating that my stimulus money would be direct deposited to my Mexican bank.  I received that letter about 10 days ago.

Yesterday I checked the "Where's my payment" section of the IRS website.  The IRS posted there that my check was mailed out on June 12, to my address of record at my bank: i. e., my Mexican address.

Hmmm...I wonder if I'll get a direct deposit AND a check, a debit card, or what.  Nothing has arrived anywhere as of today.

I also found in that website that the IRS does not make direct deposits to a foreign bank, that is what it says.  My SS check is deposited directly to Multiva and my address on the 1099 is a rural Mexican address and I never get any mail. From what I have read and what I hear other people's comments receiving my check was not going to happen. What I did a couple of days ago, I went to a free filing website and file my taxes for 2019 although I do not need to file.  IRS accepted my 2019 tax return with an address in Laredo for a forwarding mail company. Now they have a USA address to mail my check and today I went to check Get My Payment website and when I introduced my SS # my new address in Laredo showed up all by itself in the proper address line, so I assume the IRS wrote that new information in because I did not. Anyway, I also read that checks for SS recipients that have not been mailed would go out after July 23.

  4. If I live outside the United States and not in a U.S. Territory, how and when will I get my economic impact payment (EIP)?

Social Security beneficiaries with a foreign address whose monthly benefit is deposited in a foreign bank will receive their EIP by paper check in the mail, because the IRS does not deposit money into foreign accounts. The IRS anticipates it will start mailing these EIPs no later than July 24. Beneficiaries living abroad who receive their monthly benefit through a domestic bank should receive their EIP by direct deposit to that same account on or about July 24.

So, if your Soc Sec. check is deposited to a Mexican bank account, you will get it in the mail to your Mexican address which means I will never see it because there is no mail delivery where I live, and what goes to the POBox in town, if they are checks, they disappear, since already three other checks mail to the box where never found and one was cashed in by someone besides me.

  5. I just found this in My Social Security page.

  6. No, I have not gotten mine either.  I get my SS deposited to Multiva and my address is here in Mexico.  The SS 1099 only says my check is direct deposit to my account, it shows no other information.  The address is my Mexican address, and you know that if they send it to a Mexican address you might get it you might no.  I have three checks send from the USA and two were lost and they stopped payment the other was cashed here in Mexico last April and I am still waiting for reimbursement. I have very little hope of seeing that check.

We are curious if anyone has received their stimulus check by direct deposit in a MEXICAN bank that have NOT filed a tax return but receive a 1099 form.   The Get My Payment website states payment should be direct deposited for 1099 recipients but will not give us our personal information.

If they sent it to the Joco address I will never see it.  I have never received anything in the mail at this address, I have a Mexican P O Box also where I was hoping to receive another check from private retirement  but I never received any checks.  Three checks were lost or stolen.  Two of the checks I was able to report and they were cancelled and replaced but sent to a US address, one of them was cashed here in Mexico a year ago and still trying to recover it.

I contacted the SS office in the GDL Consulate and their response was that it will be handled like my Social Security check. Let us hope that is the case because It looks to me that I will never get it. From what I read on this Forum anybody receiving SS checks with direct deposit to a Mexican bank and a Mexican address on their 1099 has reported receiving the stimulus check.
