We have been getting 10 or more spam calls a day from fake computer generated numbers for 3 weeks now. There is a real person on the call speaking in rapid fire Spanish. It is not Telmex. Fortunately my base unit on my phone system allows me to block numbers when I enter them.
Has anyone else experienced this problem or are my just lucky? If so, how did so deal with it without relying on medication?Â

Oscar says they are planning on upping their game and making improvements to their current location or moving to a new location that they have found here. We first met them in their old location next door to where Elegante is now the night we first arrived in Ajijic. Wonderful family from their parents through their children! We will miss them while they are on sabbatical writing a cook book and selling real estate!

Also, what time did you try to buy? Was behind a woman in Walmart last week who wanted to buy a couple of bottles of wine and she was told no alcohol sales before 10am. Â
Interestedly, I went by Paz this morning a bit before 10 AM and noticed it was closed. It may have always been the case but for some reason I thought it strange and I think that’s the only reason I noted it. Maybe a new law or temporary rule during the pandemic.

The first sentence is a bit of a problem. The US Mexican border never closed. It did and still is closed to non essential traffic but I don’t believe that affected heath care here.

Yes. There was. And still is. I guess we should be mentioning it to deny these latest cases are real? If that is the point then use your words and just say so.Â
No, I was not implying that the latest cases reported are not real and I have no idea why you would suggest I were. You need to go back and repeat Mind Reading 101.
The case I was referring to was reported several weeks ago.

The American woman was transported to the states. She is no longer here so why would she continue to be mentioned? As for the doctor, she completely recovered from whatever she had so, again, what is there to “mention”?
I think there may have been some doubt about the veracity of the story.

Pretty soon the airlines will be back to screwing passengers big time to make up for their losses. After the initial lower prices, look for higher prices, more fees, less services, etc.
Like so many businesses, you need them more than they need you, AND THEY KNOW THIS.
Good Eric, You have it all figured out. Business don’t need customers. Please keep us posted on how this works out.

I worked in the chemical industry for a while and hold a few patents. Patents can of different types; process, application, or composition of matter for example. So for a given pharmaceutical you could have one or several patents covering how the active ingredient is made, what it is used to treat, and how it is compounded or delivered  to make it work properly. There is a lot of art in disguising from your competitors what you are marketing by claiming broad ranges of materials that may or may not actually be in the product in the market. This is an oversimplification but I think you can get the idea🙂Â

The overwhelming majority of those who die are older folks, true, but you don’t have to be old to contact and spread COVID. This has not yet run its course. I am not a fan of big government but this has to be contained.Â

And that has worked? Half the government and military have been in bed with the cartels for as long as I can remember. The Navy has been the best but even they have had issues. The cartels simply have too much money.

I just received a delivery yesterday for 2 orders I place about 2 weeks ago. If you live more than 30 km from a store the charge a MXN 1000 delivery fee. I didn’t realize there was a distance restriction of the free shipping for orders that met the minimum charge for free shipping. The driver that delivered to us came with wife and child accompanying him in his own truck and had no idea where anything was locally. With everyone ordering online they have to find delivery people wherever they can. It’s an adventure.

Well, I’ll fill you in on my odyssey. As suggested I went to El Torino-no luck. Next stop, Walmart. The vermouth way in a row that was blocked off by a skid of wine. Not to be deterred, I reached down the row a snagged 2 bottles of vermouth. I figured I’d try my luck at the cash register shrugging my shoulders and saying it was just vino. To make my ploy less obvious,I tossed some produce into the cart before heading for check out. Busted, the cashier actually read the alcohol content on the label.
Driving home to west Ajijic I noticed, as Deborah M has now pointed out, that the door to Vinos America’s was open. Embarrassingly, I made a u-turn and pulled into the parking lot. They were more than happy to sell me 2 bottles and I fled the parking lot before they could come out to tell me they had make a mistake. Pretty pathetic, eh!

Did you check El Torito?
I understand the liquor stores are open in Jocotepec also. Perhaps Habacht can confirm?
Thanks, I had forgotten about that!

I had the foresight to stock up on gin before the ban on sales but neglected to buy dry vermouth. Any one have a thought where I might buy some.
Even though I only add a tough of vermouth if start drinking straight gin I’ll feel like an alcoholic!

That is pretty funny JB. What about the hair salon owner in Texas, who opened up despite the emergency order? She got seven days in jail and will have to pay $500 per every day she keeps it open. Ironically, in her jurisdiction they are going to open salons this Friday.

The Texas Supreme Court just acquitted her of all charges....

We have had this number for 13 years so I doubt that’s the case but that was a very good thought. 🙏.
