Mainecoons
At the age of about 15 Max has developed failing kidneys and will need medication daily. We have an upcoming 10 trip with our artisan family in February and we are looking for someone who we can compensate to come daily and give Max his meds. This could be a vet or any experienced pet sitter who is willing to do the job. Female is better as Max prefers the ladies. We are in SE Ajijic a couple of blocks below the Tianquis street. Thanks. Cronopio
There´s a new veterinary practice in La Huerta shopping strip in west Ajijic that is run by two female vets. I know they will make house calls (at least nearby). They might be an option. Sorry, I don´t have their contact info.
Natasha
I've already shared info with MC about another (solo) lady vet out this (west) way who will definitely go to his house, which might be out of their range. (Yes, I do know where he lives and where they are.) But that's perhaps another option.

Mainecoons
It turns out our house sitter's daughter worked for a vet for quite a while and is very experienced in medicating cats so that problem at least is solved. We will be looking for a gentle and compassionate vet to come to our home and send Max over the rainbow bridge when it is time. We always try to have our cats euthanized at their home in the most peaceful manner, usually in one of our laps. First they are sedated and then the final shot is administered so it is basically painless and they go in familiar surroundings. 2
Tingting
"Max prefers the ladies" I know it's a bit inappropriate considering the topic and some of the comments, but that line still gave me a much-needed chuckle (it's been a rough day). So, thanks!
Mainecoons
Dr. Mayra in Chapala has him doing better but eating is still a big problem with him. She has his inflammation under control and kidneys are stabilized but he can't eat the food he likes because of those problems and he doesn't like the stuff he can eat. As usual, the stuff that could help him with this isn't available in Mexico. 🤥 Trying to figure out how to get it down here.
